How do I remove the one-piece back seat bench on my 2011 Subaru Outback to install seat covers ? If I try to pull the front of the seat bench upward, it won't pop or pull upward.

I am referring to the bottom section (aka the seat bench, not the back rests), the part that people sit on.

You need to remove the seat bottom first to access the lower attaching points.

Testimonial: "The seat bottom, the part that people sit on, is the part that I am asking about. I do not know how to remove it and it will NOT pull upward, as shown in some Subaru Outback videos that I have seen for years prior and after the 2011 that I have."

It's hard to explain, but there is a catch at the front edge pretymuch directly behind each front seat. You need to pull up sharply right at the catch for it to release from the plastic cup that it catches in.

I have seen the latch on videos. Mine will not pull upward, no matter how hard I pull at it. I wasn't sure if there was something holding it down other than the latch. I can't get it upward at all. I have put my hands between the seat and the section below it and pulled upward as hard as I can. It won't budge.

From the videos that I have seen on YouTube for Subarus and other cars, there is a U-shaped metal piece, one on each side, near the front bottom edge, that sticks downward into something. I can feel where that might be, but gripping the front edge of the seat near where that is and pulling upward with both hands -- nothing happens. It won't budge.

SOURCE: How can I remove front row seat headrest?

Most volvo headrest can be removed by releasing the catches which are on the back of the headrest on some models and on the front on others I believe on 960 they are on the back. To release the seat on a 960 look where the shafts should be then follow it down on the back where the seat back top stops then goes in press around that area you should be able to find the catch there pull up on the headrest while releasing the catch you have to do this on both sides. The headrest should come off this also works on 740 and 760 series the volvo 780 is a different story the only way to get the headrest off on that is to disassemble the seat

SOURCE: drivers power seat will not move forward or back.

check first to make sure there is nothing caught in the track or under the seat or there maybe a bad wire on the power motor itself and yes there should be a fuse or relay check under the dash for the box there and the diagram will tell if you if one is there or check the relay box under the hood for the relay for it

Remove rear bench seat

I don't know about your exact make, but every bench rear seat bottom I ever messed with removed as follows:

Get your fingers under the bottom of the seat cushion, and give a sharp tug upwards.
It should be held in by spring clips, which will release with the upward tug.
With the front of the seat cushion slightly raised (so the spring clips can clear the brackets), it should then pull straight forward and out.

To re-install, push the cushion back under the seat back (with the front slightly raised), and with both hands, give a sharp push downwards to latch the spring clips.
