My car lexus es300 2001 does not move in reverse gear

The reverse clutch is probably worn out. Transmission needs to be rebuilt.

It can be issue with gears or problem with transmission and needs to be rebuilt. Also get the ****** fluid checked. If it's low, then such problems occurs.

The shifter needs to be inspected. If The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

Check transmission fluid level on level street with engine running and transmission in park. add fluid if needed. If not, have the car towed to transmission shop.

check gear linkage,,may have just poped off?

MY 1995 LEXUS SC400 TRANSMISSION WONT PULL IN ANY GEAR,,,(DRIVE L1,L2 OR REVERSE

will car move when put in 2,3, or reverse?

does the lever nbot go physically into the position,or does it indicate but not move?check the linkage at the transmission.i would put the unit on a hoist ,disconnect the linkage at the transmission,then move it and see if the gears work.if they do,there is a shift lever/linkage problem.

Is this in all gears ie: D, 2, 3, L? or is it a specific gear? Assuming the transmission fluid was change, one or more valves in the unit is stuck and also, the bands inside the transmission could be worn. The transmission shop needs to hook up a special machine and pressure test valve chambers...hope this helps

Open the gear motor on the left hand side of the telelscopic assembly. Take the plate off held by 4 philips screws. Using a 10mm socket, remove the bolt holding the platic gear. Remove plastic gear and insert the reverse way. Over the years, one side of the gears get worn out.
