If you have that light on you need to check the oil or the antifreeze fast .So if the oil and antifreeze and good the light will go out.

Not positive 05 is the same but on my 02 you turn the key to the on position and pump the gas pedal 4 times.

The "servcie engine soon" light doesn't come on because of an oil change. That means that you have a problem with the car. If the light is just ON steady, than its most likely EVAP system problem or 02 sensor issue. It could be numerous things causing that light to come on , but if the light is flashing, get the car to the dealer ASAP.

With the key in the ignition (but not turned), press and hold the Odometer Reset Button on the right hand side of the panel. While still holding that button, turn the key (although not far enough to start the engine) and then press and hold the Minute button on the left side of the instrument pane(if pressing doesnt work try turning the knob clockwise until service light has gone off and skip the pressing)l. Release both buttons at the same time.

The Service Engine Soon light comes only when the engine computer control unit (called the PCM) senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system, it is not related to the oil change, there are about 200 possible faults that turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.
