Where can I get a diagram showing the brake line bends for my 1996 geo prizm.

lost the old ones?
the brake line bandito , run amuck.

the FSM book on car covers this.
or buy used lines, and use as guide.
i think toyota still sells them.

you got the right tool for the brake flare, tool , double cone them.
if not they will be unsafe.
and if using wrong lines. same. there are lines that are not for brakes.
where did you get the blank lines....
do not use copper or brass and only use DOT certified lines , done or raw.

My bmw x5 has squeeky rear brakes ever since i renewed the pads, its driving me mad. any ideas?

Resurface the rotors, if not resurfaceable due to limited specifications then buy new rotors. If your pads are fairly new and no cracks are present then resurface the pads with sand paper or a power tool with a sanding disc. Make sure all is lubed with caliper grease, and cleaned prior with brake cleaner.

2001 ford explorer packing front bearings

This is going to sound silly. Buy a bearing packer. This device is not expensive and should be available at just about any auto parts store.

It is a fairly simple device. It looks like two shallow cones mounted on a shaft. The bottom cone is fixed and the top cone unscrews from off the shaft. The shaft itself is hollow with a grease fitting on top. Just remove the top cone, place the bearing on the bottom cone and screw on the top cone firmly, but not over-tight. Attach a grease gun loaded with the desired grease and pump the handle until you see grease come out the sides. At that point, the bearing should be fully packed.

Rear left spring squeaky noise.

The strut may be assembled incorrectly. The strut mount ( the part the top of the spring fits into) may be broken and the rubber that it fits into may be turned wrong. Yes the spring can be bad but unlikly. If you do end up changing the springs they have to be changed in pairs unless you buy a used one from the junkyard

Bmw 2001 4.4 x5 sensor

You will need to replace the oil level sensor. It is located on the bottom of the the foward oil pan. Do it during a oil change, you will have to remove the oil first. Here is a link to the part at Bimmer Specialist. Call and make sure it is the correct one before you buy. Good Luck.

BMW X5 Battery Drain.

hello theringbar, I would recommend checking the a/c blower resistor. it is an electronic final stage and can kill the battery overnight. the final stage is located on the passenger side at the back of the a/c heater box.

When radio is turned on, no sound is given

MY 2003 Protege radio turned on and displayed correctly but was silent until I discovered that one trunk speaker braided copper "cone wire" was grounding to the speaker frame. Separating the wire restored full sound to the system. Who knew?

Can you put factory sat nav in an X5 when it does not already have it in

Hello There

Yes it is possible to install the factory sat nav in you X5, but apart from the head unit you will also need:

  1. new wiring loom
  2. dvd navigation unit installed at the back
  3. TMC radio unit again at the back
  4. bluetooth unit
All the interior needs to come out i.e seats, floor carpets, door trims.

If you feel brave enough then there are BMW forums which gives you very detailed information on how to to it, but don't expect to get it done in a day or even two, a week is probably realistic time. It took me 2 weeks to do my first 3 series.

Hope this helps. Please don't forget to rate me.

Many Thanks
