The doors seem to shut completely but the left indicator lamp in the upper sliding door button on the centre console stays lit, dome light stays on, both sliding doors and rear door do not lock and the dashboard door open warning occurs when the car is driving. Cleaning the door contacts does not help. I have swapped almost all the contact panels between left and right doors but the problem consistent on the left electric sliding door.

Mine did this. I went around to each door and sprayed a liberal amount of WD-40 in the latch, then open and closed each door about five times. It hasn't done it since. I think the switch inside was not moving freely.

Something similar to that was happening with our Odyssey...the beeping when you are driving whether it's ongoing or intermittent is the "safety alarm" letting you know the door is not closed. The power lock is not engaging. What I do when I get the beeping while driving is hit the Door Close button. It causes the door to attempt to engage again. To fix it...we first cleaned out the space below the side running board (kids were hiding crayons and things in there), then looked for any obstructions along the top and bottom tracks. I sprayed a lubricant along the tracks (I'd suggest the dry lube kind...I used WD40 the 1st time and had streaks of it dripping down after driving), use a lube that has a long straw to spray in small places...and spray up into the track that runs the length of the middle of the car. Manually open and shut it a few times to get the tracks lubed, then try it out.
If you press the open OR close button by remote or in the car and get nothing...no movement/no noises/no beeping...then it could be the electrical circuit itself, the signal itself may be impeded...or the motor shot. Have you tried any of these suggestions before?

My Neon did this.....The door sensors were messed up and i just ended up taping pennys to the little knob.....It was a idea from my co-worker who had a Neon and had the same problem....

you most likely have a bad door ajar switch- the door panel has to be removed to access it, its on the door latch- you can unplug them this will take care of the batt drain prob.as for the locks it may be a switch problem- most ford vehicles will not let you lock the vehicle from the driver's door when it's open to prevent locking the keys in.

Hi John,
Had a similar problem with my Saturn. Door chime going all the time, the seat belts going up - down - up for no apparent reason.
Turned out to be the switch in the door jamb had become unseated. As it randomly made and broke contact, the cars computer thought the doors were opening and closing, then acted accordingly.
I remounted it with the help of a hot glue gun (plastic mount).
Hope this info helps with your problem.
Best regards
Mike
