Had my driver side air shock replaced in October. Didn’t realize that they should be replaced in pairs. I replaced the passenger side air shock last month. I stored the car in the garage because the red warning showed in the dash “stop car too low”. So I figured it was the pump that was bad. Last week I had a European car repair shop (highly recommended) replace the the pump. Car still too low. Red warning still says “stop, too low”. Is there a reason why the two new air shocks and the new pump are not responding to each other. Or do I have the wrong idea. Sorry, my car is a 2007 CLS 550. Thank you

Hello,
If you are sure there are no leaks. I believe you have to take it to a Mercedes dealer and they can reset it so those red too low lights go out and the car is riding level. I hope this helps.

I am not familiar with the model. Replacing pairs or sets has always been best practice even though the kerb side suspension tends to suffer a great deal more wear and tear and a greater likelihood of damage.

I imagine there is a device to monitor the suspension height that is either faulty or maladjusted. As it is a late model Mercedes I expect it is a fully computerised car and it is probable a clever fellow with a laptop and the right software would be needed to reset the default values after a repair and possibly even tell the system it has been repaired...

Hi,

No you do not need to go to a Jaguar Dealer to top up your engine coolant.

You can top it up yourself, and can usually obtain coolant, I recommend 4O% from any gas station.

Providing it is no more than around a pint or so you should be fine, as long as you keep monitoring your level, as you must be experiencing a leak of the coolant somewhere, to give you this problem.

You are possibly going to have to take the car in to the garage for the cooling system to be pressure tested, and checked, for the source of the leak.

As your coolant light has only come on briefly, I suspect the level is not much down.

Good Luck !
John.

SOURCE: location of air ride pump

The airpump is located right above the exhaust. Its very easy to have it removed. I have had many problems with the air ride systems. Check to make sure the air lines werent rubbing against the tires...the compressor can be picked up used at many salvage yards for 50 bucks, but if te compressor is lifting the car, then there could be other issues.

SOURCE: ONE REAR AIR SHOCK IS LEAKING IN MY 2002 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE

you could replace the one shock but do you know why it is leaking oil? Typically unless there was something traumatic to happen to one of the rear shocks, then if one is going you can almost be the other one will go soon. I ended up having too many problems with the air ride suspensions. If you haven't yet, look into conversion kits as something to consider for down the road if nothing else. www.strutmasters.com has a great kit that is made in America and comes with a lifetime warranty. They have a good reputation and track record and can help you save some money and find the permanent solution if anything else goes wrong.

How do I get a fully inflated air shock to deflate?

The air struts have a safety valve in them you would have had to crack the line and let the air slowly leak out

How to replace rear air shock on 1992 buick parkavenue

Pretty sure your car has struts on the rear and the shock function is part of the strut. Replacing struts is more difficult than replacing shocks and they should be replaced in pairs.

Stop car too low

first,I would like to ask you if you've had your suspension, shocks, and tire air pressure checked for irregularities;second, do the weight differences between the dredominating driver and right side passenger(s) differ significantly enough to produce consistant weight burden on passenger side suspension,or shocks-less than on the driver's side of your vehicle? If any of the above issues or mechanical irregularities exist, then those are most likely the reasons for your vehicle being lower on right than on left.have a mechanic thoroughly check the suspension for wear, damage to components, and /or bent parts, and if all is well, and those possible components do not need need replacing, then the next area of concern would likely be shock obsorbers, and if those do not need replacing then the problem may be that the vehicle's frame is bent or broken -depending on the type of frame your vehicle has..Process of elimination, while troubleshooting likely areas of concern may enable you to find cost effective, timely solutions to any vehicular problems. Passenger side power window does not work

We had this problem and just actually fixed it today. Had tried a passenger side door switch but that didn't help. We ended up buying and replacing the drivers side door switch and that solved the problem of our passenger side window not going up or down. The driver side switch is a one piece unit available from the dealer and it controls both driver and passenger side windows.

My front end squeaks when i go over bumps

The last thing you should do is blindly throw money at it without a proper diagnosis, to regretfully learn the problem still exists. Squeaks can be as simple as a worn shock mount, belt slippage, weather stripping in need of lubricant. or a myriad of other things that cost far less than a suspension overhaul.

If it is your shocks/struts, look for the outside of the shock cylinder to appear wet/oily. Hydraulic fluid leaks are proof your shocks/struts need replacing (best to replace all 4, but at the very least the front or rears should be replaced in pairs), and putting it off can certainly lead to a domino effect of failed components (fragged ball joints or tie rod ends, shredded bushings, excessive tire wear, etc..)

If you have a reliable mechanic, that's where I would head. However, if you are more of a DIY'er, grab a friend and head out to a vacant lot with some bumps where you can try and reproduce the problem. While one of you drives slowly, CAREFULLY, the other walk along side and try to pinpoint the source of the squeak (front driver side, rear passenger side, engine compartment, trunk, wherever). Note the speed and direction of turn when the squeak(s) appear, forward AND reverse? Does it happen when air temp is cold/hot, all the time? This is valuable info to relay to a mechanic.

The point is, suspension systems can be wildly complex and sensitive (as any BMW owner can testify), or fairly simple (think mid-70's leaf-sprung trucks).

Another factor is how many miles have you logged on your Kia? If you've hit 80k miles or more, this is when you can expect to start replacing many components that have reached the end of their service life.

With a little more info, a more precise diagnosis can be given.

Air suspension diagram for cadillac catera 1999. The leveling light is constantly on even when im parked. I;m trying to find a air suspension diagram to track the problem down.

this happened 2 me also because the rear air shocks were popped, they are very expensive 2 replace with factory parts, I found aftermarket air shocks for $80 but you need 2 fill them manually and disconnect the compressor . If you want 2 track the lines the compressor is behind the front bumper near the passenger side wheel well from there you can follow the lines 2 the shocks, meanwhile you should disconnect the air compressor it can burn out from running all the time. The factory shocks are close 2 $300 ea. with the aftermarket shocks there with be a valve stem 4 you 2 fill them with and are easy for a do it yourselfer

Our 2005 Navigator is like sitting on it's front wheels. The air suspension is not working. Last fall we had an issue with the driver's front side not leveling. The dealership replaced a piston looking...

Anyone with a Mountaineer or Explorer should remove
the Factory Air Suspension, and replace with conventional
shocks/struts.

There are lots of companies with those products

I do not believe, even a dealer can resolve all the
issues,especially with the Mountaineer

When you go over 2 or 3 thousand dollars trying to keep
believing, you can get it to work, you will switch from
the air ride, and end what should have never been on
those vehicles in the first place.
