Have you checked the timing belt to see if it's still intact? If it is, it may have jumped time depending on the mileage on the belt since last replace. Hope it's not belt or jump time, if it did it may be one of those "collision" motors which means when the belt breaks or jumps enough time, it can warp several valves. I just hope that isn't the case as that could be very costly to repair. That's worse case and scenario. I hope this gets you going again< Jesus loves you, John 3:16-17 (KJV)

SOURCE: my volvo s60 cuts off while driving

Actually cuts out while driving, or when at idle stopped at a light or something? If it is the latter, have your oxygen sensors checked and maybe your fuel pressure sensor or MAP sensor.

2003 volvo s60 sengine shuts down when driving

Could be a few reasons why this is happening. But alas we need more info. Engine check light on? Does it do anything before it dies or is it like the ignition was shut off? Volvo security systems are connected with the ignition switch and if it is wearing out, it can cause the issue. Please fill us in a little more and I will be happy toi give you some direct advice.

Resetting computer on volvo s60 2002 after battery replacement

I had this problem on my 02 s60 after messing with the battery. The problem is that the computer is stupid and "forgets" how to manage the car if it completely loses power.

To retrain it you basically just drive the car. I've seen several sets of instructions but here's what works for me:

1. Start the car and let it idle until warmed up.
2. Using moderate throttle (don't floor it) get the car up to highway speeds.
3. Slow down to a complete stop.
4. Repeat 2-3 a few times if you're so inclined.
5. Done!

Skipping the highway part will work too, however, I've heard it can take much longer to retrain the computer (weeks to months depending on driving habits.)

I had a 2001 volvo s60 2.4T, just replace all the ignition coil and spark plug and fuel regulator, It will crank but wont start, if i crank and step on the gas it will start but as soon I release the gas...

First thing, disconnect the negative terminal from the battery post and wait 20 minutes, relax and then reconnect the battery to reset everything.

Sounds like you need a fuel pump. There is an access panel in the floor of the car to get to the pump.
