I have a 1995 C2500 i thought the starter went out so i replaced it with the solenoid, but that wasnt the problem.so i replaced the ignition module.still doesnt crank over while looking for other causes ive found an exposed wire that is now broke off by the starter that appears to go to the tranny possibly a sensor.

Really sounds like the broken wire is to the neutral safety switch. Everything else will work properly but the starter will not engage...so nothing happens. I would check that.
Good luck.

Squirt starting fluid in intake and try to start if it starts and then dies you have a fuel delivery problem. Make sure you check the fuses for a blown fuse namely fuel pump or fuelpump relay. If it doesnt start after squirting starting fluid in the intake check for spark at the plug wires and coil.

2003 ford focus zx3 2.3l auto.. starter needed replaced due to test of solenoid wasnt working bench tested.. installed new starter..wired it up same.. now turn key amd i can hear starter motpr spin bit...

Yes, it is possible for the starter to spin without the solenoid engaging. The solenoid pushes the spring loaded gear forward to engage the flywheel.
You need to crawl back under your vehicle and ensure you've properly attached all wires. It should look similar to this:
starter-d053pipvg1eiz5wan5nws05s-1-0.jpg If these wires are properly attached, then check for power and/or damage to wires. The secondary will only energize when the ignition switch is engaged, so you'll need help (test when not attached to starter).

My car hasnt been ran in a while so bought a new battery starter and spark plug wires It started but putted a bit so thought well its been a while But while driving down the road I noticed my speedometer...

its possible, however I would recheck the wires that you replaced and be sure that they are in the proper order, an improperly routed ignition wire can cause a lot of the things you have just discribed.

1992 mitsubishi mighty max 2.4 liter manual, could not get starter to turn over until i went directly to starter, does not seem to be getting enough voltage to starter solenoid, what do i need to check in...

Run a wire directly from the (disconnected) starter solenoid wire to the (disconnected, just grounded) horn. See how it blows. If weak, it could be the ignition switch or the clutch safety switch.

I think that you have a defective starter solenoid, this the part that is mounted to the top of the starter.

1999 chevy blazer starter...how many wires attach to it? i thought there were 3 when we disconnected it but now can only find 2. help plzzz

do you have 2 wires , plus the positive battery cable, if so , i believe the 2 wires went to the solenoid, if you only had 1 wire and a positive battery cable, then the 1 wire went to the solenoid, and positive cable went to the starter.

I have a 1995 isuzu trooper awhile ago my car wouldnt start cause i hit the alarm switch i thought i left it alone for awhile and it started. so today i went out to a store and went to start my car back...

Have the starter solenoid checked. With a continuity tester check if the positive terminal on the solenoid receives a signal when the switch is turned. If it doesn't then the switch is at fault.

Car wont start, the security light is on all time it doesn't blink,i thought it was the switch cause it has a chip, a mechanic said that wasnt the problem, there is no current from switch to starter.

reset the key fob,,,turn the key on for 10 minutes, then turn it off,and right back on,do this three times,a total of 30 minutes, then try and start the car.Let me know if this helps, thank you.

Sounds like you have a bad starter solenoid. Replace JUST the solenoid...save money....that'll fix your problem.....unless you just want to replace the whole starter assembly!
