main wire that goes directly to the battery will be the problem as this is what stores the voltage for the memory.. can be a bad fuse or bad fuse connection. or on the back of the radio the connection and fuse.

if the touch screen is blank it is normally caused by problem with the d2b fibre optic network or no wake up signal being received by the module or one of the other modules on the network, try a battery reset ie remove the neg battery lead and leave off for 5 or 10 mins reconnect and retest, if that fails you need to take it to someone with the correct test equipment to check out the system, hope this helps, i worked on these cars since launch and recently retired, not easy to repair without the correct knowledge and test gear, depending on age it may need some modules reprogramming to correct this.

the touch screen on the car should allow you to change the compass setting...I cant remmeber if yours has this but see if you can touch the compass on the screen display to make the direction allow of the car be in accordance with the cars real movement or north as you wish..Keep me posted

I assume you have a jaguar sat-nav system installed. To update you can buy an updated disc which is compatible to your car system and which will contain all new information/routes etc. simply load this into you unit and follow any instructions. Hope this helps - good luck!
