Some answers are worth waiting for...

For BETTER help...
Make, Model & Year .... is REALLY helpful.

Lets (let us) pretend we are paying for it... Then WE
would offer all the APPROPRIATE details in advance
of the ( HOURLY ) clock starting!!

If I were pulling GUESSES out of my rear pocket:
I would be GUESSING that your EXHAUST SYSTEM
has failed.

When getting FREE code readings from your local
(lets say: the COUNTER CLERK at "WE BE Parts &
"STUFF") retailer... Let's try to remember MINIMUM
wage is worth every scent...

A real mechanic would likely be CHEAPER.

OXYGEN Sensors seldom make the NEWS ... they
merely report it (like a thermometer in FLU season).

If your (Dip-Wad) Counter Clerk says your "O2"
(oxygen sensor) is at FAULT... You may rest assured
that your EXHAUST is blocked.

Were a SWAG appropriate... CATALYTIC CONVERTOR.

Best advice: Get your codes READ ...

I used to be here DAILY.. but I am still available to
respond to/for my ANSWERS.

~~

Very simple to PROVE;

Open your exhaust above the catalytic converter...

If the ENGINE runs:
Your EXHAUST is blocked.

Same results:
I am WRONG.

I can only get BETTER if you tell me...

Yours truly,
Carnac

If theres n engine lite on its not a sensor. Wires on coil or plugs cud b worn..chec connects n condition. It may not b holdn residual fuel pressure..put key in on off threetimes..on four try startn..if runs then u need new checvalve.

What year is the vehicle ? What fuel pressure sensor ? Hooking up a scan tool to check engine data , fuel trims long an short term , O2 sensor switching data , MAF sensor etc..... Depending on the year the vehicle could have electronic returnless fuel system . This system has a fuel rail pressure sensor an a fuel pump control module . What kind of mechanic did you have out . Back yard kind ? Professional mobile tech ? Is the check engine light on ? DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's stored ? Sounds like your best bet would be to have it towed to a ford dealer .

before the fuel are coming to the injectors block is entered in a litle box like valve, is coming there with a ruber tube open it there and let your wife to crank and see if fuel is coming right up there. if yes se your spark plugs and spark wires because there are not working or probably a high tension coil isn giving too much current to spare in sparc plugs. if no so check yor fuel pump and his way from the tank in the point you are looking for.

hi is there fuel getting to engine?any vapour coming out exhaust?sometimes glow plugs not working can cause this.try a squirt of easy start into air filter.NOT MUCH!!READ INSTRUCTIONS.HIGHLY FLAMMABLE.then start car for about 10secs.get this from car accessorie shops.if it fires on this its highly likely glowplugs not working or fuel pumptiming out.its hard to say without seeing the car

Aye, I would check or have the Ignition control module checked. Also the crankshaft position sensor imputs to the ICM. No crank signal being recieved means the control module wont send the spark out as the module has no idea where the piston position is. Surprised your local GM techs could fix this. I am a GM and ASE master certified tech who has spent the last 9 years with our local Cadillac dealership.

Hi, wow!

sounds bad, I would drain the oil and leave it over night to drip out so it is completely dry, leave all oil caps an anything that will allow air in off the truck.

Do you have a compressor or air line you could use to blast air through the engine. if this is diesel fuel then it will take much longer to evaporate if this is gas/petrol then over night should do it.

Hope this helps

Dan

SOURCE: After reading the trouble code I changed the

You have to zero out the postion sensor with an ohm meter. disconnect the plug for the TPS then with an ohm meter turn it to where ohm meter reads 0 ohms with throttle closed, next tighten screws then with ohm meter still connected open the throttle plate it should read 0 ohms till the plate opens and then should increase as it is put in wide open throttle postion, if it goes stratigh over to full postion then the swich is defective remove and take back to autoparts store. then restet the new switch, it is common to get a bad TPS every once and a while.

check for a problem cam shaft censor as well as a crank position sensor as both are required to be operational for the ECM to start the engine

Mechanical

Before you threw a bunch of parts at it maybe you should at least see if it has spark. If it doesn't have spark then the crank sensor and coil pack would be appropriate. If it is not getting fuel then the fuel pump, filter, etc. would be the way to go. So see if there is spark, do this by pulling a spark plug and see if there is spark out the end with it plugged into the wire and cranking it over. If there is spark put all this back together and squirt some fuel into the throttle body while cranking it over, if it tries to start but doesn't try to start on its own without squirting fuel in it then the fuel pump is bad. How many miles on it? Possibly the cam timing is off. Maybe take a compression check and see if the cam is out of time.

Ok. 2003 ford explorer sport trac. Died on the way home. Myself and my mechanic cannot figure out what the issue is. We have spark. And fuel. The cam sensor doesn't seem to have power. It's trying...

First, check the fuel pump safety shut off switch, you can check that first, then check fuel pump, filter and fuel pressure regulator and fuel related fuses and relays. Next, remove the O2 sensors and just hang them on a piece of wire out of the way...now try starting the vehicle, if it starts, get the catalytic converter checked for blockage...other checks are
Pick-up coil or fuel pump control module....cheers
