Remove the bottom seat, then there may be a bolt on each side of the bottom of the back seat, remove the bolts and lift the seat back straight up off hooks that hold the top of seat back against the body.
The seat can be disassembles the problem is the cable came off the levers handle and the back part of the seat were the handle is mounted has to be opened up the get to the parts, overwheit or srongly pushing on the seat while trying to chnge the adjustment is the reason for failure. Mosst shops don't have the right mechanics to take aprt seats but an aporstry shop will be able to tackel the job they have the right tools and practice to do thei s kind of work.
Take the seat out of the car and disassemble it... Inspect it for anything which would prevent the seat back from reclining... repair/replace components as needed.
They have a problem with the seatbelt retractor getting jammed up causing the belt to jam & not let the rear seat fold back up.The easiest way to get the seat back up is to cut the seatbelt & fold up the seat. Then the rear seat needs to be disassembled to gain access to the seatbelt retractor assy which has the seat belt made on.Hopefully it's still under warranty or Ext. warranty.hope this helps
Yhea you have to disassemble the entire seat and order a new base for it. We have repaired a few of them at the shop. I have had one just welded back together but it never sits quite the way it used to.
