I have a 2008 jeep liberty and it is stuck in 4 wheel drive low and the light is flashing as well what can i try to get it back to 2 wheel drive.

Hi, try putting the tranny in neutral. Then moving the 4wheel lever to 4wheel low, then move the lever to 2wheel then shut off. Hope this works.


On the TCS light issue, Generally the service traction system light comes on when there is a fault in the abs and or traction conrol system. It will need to be scanned for trouble codes and the fail component replaced. The abs is translated into anti lock braking system. This does not stop the brakes from doing their job when the light is on, it just says that something is stopping the abs part of the system from doing their job. The traction control light goes the same, if its not blinking, its fine to drive. The traction control system just makes sure that the tires dont spin as much as they would if the car didnt have it. In winter time this is a very good option, but for now, i wouldnt worry. When you get the time to take it in, take it to a certified dealership, have them run a 50 dollar diagnostic check, and let them asess the problem. When this is done, they will tell you what needs to be done to the car, and what the magnitude of damage is and like with anything, the higher the damage, the more expensive it is to fix...

Pull the kick panel on the passenger side. there is a small box mounted there that is the computer that controls the actuator for the 4wd system. this is notorious for problems due in fact that the connector likes to pull out and away from the module. I had the same problem and the solution is simple.. take a long zip tie and get it between a few of the wires and around the module. tie it in and have a nice day.. it wont come off or try to pop out anymore and you should have no issues getting into 2wd, 4wd h, 4wd L.

on driver side of t case pull actuater spra with pb blaster turn 4x4 off and on it will break loose then put it back if noyt turn shaft with chanel locks and buy a new one bout a100 bucks
