Could be a plugged fuel filter. Lets some fuel through then higher draw for higher rpm doesn't provide enough fuel so it dies. Also could be debris in the fuel tank when it is pulled under higher draw and blocks line temporarily.

It sounds like the brake light switch has failed. It is located on a bracket under the dash near the top of the brake pedal arm. You could put a bridging wire across the terminals to confirm if the switch is out and the rest of the wiring is OK. If the lights then work replace the switch. To remove switch, disconnect wiring, loosen locknut and unscrew switch. Replacement is reverse procedure. To adjust, screw in switch until operating button is fully depressed by pedal arm, tighten locknut and reconnect wires. Check for correct operation of lights.
