2006 volvo s40 2.4I. Where is the ECT(engine

Instructions
    • 1 Open the engine hood by pulling the hood release latch located on the lower kick panel on the driver's side of the Volvo S40. Lift the hood up and prop it on the hood prop.
    • 2 Locate the steering shaft that extends from the firewall to lower suspension located inside the engine compartment, by the front right wheel. Halfway down the shaft, you will locate the power steering pump. The pump is a black container that bolts to the driver's side of the engine block. On the top, you will find a cap that says "Power Steering Fluid."
    • 3 Look to the left of the cap. Bolted to the power steering pump is the thermostat temperature sensor. The sensor has a black round cap and a black wire extending out of the top.

The engine temperature gauge suddenly stopped working on my 2006 S60. I assume it is the sensor as the car is running fine, the heater and engine cooling fan are working properly. I haven't been able to...

I'm afraid that my online resource doesn't have data on this vehicle. Which means that the best source of information will be a Repair Manual from the manufacturer, or a Haynes or Chilton manual if available.

One can try to locate the sensor by looking for a one or two wire sensor that screws into the 'hot' part of the engine block or cylinder head.

The above part sells for about $35 at Autozone.

2006 Volvo XC90 side mirror control not working

Check your fuses to be sure it is not as simple as that. They fuse locations may be listed in your owner's manual. If you don't have the manual. Here is a link to find one online.

Service engine soon light

if certain that car has no sensor then carry on with self preservation (plus, leads, filter and such) as the warning light does come on sometimes to tell you to service/ take to a garage to service.
