Kia Sorento 2004 3.5 v6 cranks but won't start even when the sensors have been replaced
Rod is correct...any engine needs fire, fuel, air, and compression..I always start with fire, if you have it then move on to fuel...95% of the time the problem will lay in those two. Once you figure out what it isn't getting, then work on why. Newer cars have a lot of computorized stuff that require specialized equipment and knowledge.
What sensors have been replaced? There are several sensors that can cause a modern engine to not start. Have you checked for current diagnostic codes? Have you determined that if you are getting fuel pressure, spark to the spark plugs, and injector pulse to the fuel injectors?
-Rod
I Rod tahnks for reverting back to me. The sensors are the camshaft and camp sensors and yes there
is fuel pressure is there and the injectors are fine
For an engine to start there has to be the proper air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, compression, and spark that is at the correct time. The CMP and CKP sensors, if installed correctly and working, should ensure the spark happens at the correct time. But you didn't mention if you confirmed there is spark. You seem confident fuel is getting to the cylinders so the only things left are to confirm you are getting spark and that the cylinders are building appropriate compression.
spark and the cylinders are building appropriate compression but it still won't start
.
Well, one of the items listed above is not correct. If the fuel is good, the correct amount of fuel and air is getting to the cylinders, compression is correct and rather uniform across all cylinders, and the spark is strong and timing is correct, the engine will start. You may need to recheck all of these items to determine which one is not happening correctly.
Thanks guys it was the timing that was incorrect got it right and the car started. Big ups to your valuable input
I'm glad to hear you got the issue resolved. Thank you for following up with what you discovered.
I think crank sensors are actually the problem because the care needs to be easy before starting and crank sensors slows down the car and sucks the engine of the car. I recommend you to readhttps://www.newyorkdognanny.com/new-york... article and learn how to take crank sensors because the car works perfect without it.

Have the remote start removed from the vehicle. Fix the cut wires. Use the key.

Be careful there.. If you remove the Throttle Position Sensor TPS or the throttle Cable, the engine light will come on because there is a certain setting that needs to be done to ensure accurate emission control.

I had the same problem, had the crank sensor replaced and problem went away.

Do you have fuel pressure and spark to the plugs ?
SOURCE: My Kia Sorento 2004 v6 3.5 is leaking coolant when engine switched off next to the left wheel
Hi,the coolent is most probberly comeing from the exspansion tank,it could be a week filler cap or a blown head gasket, you should get a garage to check for leaks, they will compress the water system to find this out,if you rother do it yourself you could go to a motor spares shop and tell them you want to pressurise the water system and they should sale you the right tool(its a gage with a pump on it and it should come with all the instruction you will need, good luck hope its something trival.
