Might be in that mode or the vent cable might be broken in dash that controls direction of air flow.

SOURCE: poor air flow from floor vents or when multiple vents choosen

There has to be something blocking the output somewhere. Check where vents come out to see if something has fallen down to block them.

SOURCE: how to change air filter 2006 colbalt ss

Its a pain but under your car are about 6 8mm bolts that you have to take off to get the filter out also you will have to take your driver front tire off to get the last few bolts to gain access to the air box there are 3 screws on the box that comes off and you can pull out the filter and put new one in and do the reverse.

I have a 2006 colbalt heat only comes out of floor vent

sounds like a Mode door actuator problem . It's located under the dash on the driver's side . You need to take the lower panel below steering column off .

2006 colbalt does not start i was told it needs a throttle

In a 2006 car the throttle doesn't need to be pressed when starting as it will have an auto choke as such. This is engaged automatically on cold start even if your throttle cable has snapped it will still start and if the cables snapped the throttle peddle will be on the floor or will feel different. Does this help
