Do you have anymore information. If so please forward everything you have regarding this problem. If the car is starting, running but not accelerating there may be a problem with the accelerator pedal position sensor or related circuit. Usually the engine light will turn on because the EMC identified a fault and a code or codes will be stored. If the engine light is on or flashing please have the codes read. Noise is coming from the collapsed hose that goes to the intercooler. The turbo system has to be sealed to create boost. Replace the hose

Motor stalls on any accelaration

This can be caused by a faulty camshaft position sensor or idle air control valve (IAC). It wouldn't be a bad idea to have your engine codes read. But this is usually the cause.

Volvo s40 2003 diesel. all of a sudden it is very slow accelarating from a stop start. there is no pull what so ever. any ideas please.

Could have several problems. Need to have it scanned before you really know which direction to persue.

Getting a ticking noise with light acceleration. With increased speed, the ticking gets faster also. Sounds like right fron, but can't be sure. it only happens when it is in gear and moving.

this problem seems to be like some thing from the wheels touching the statinary parts. because of this when you accelarate the rate increases. please take to the mechanic they wil manage to find it.

Suspension System problems

clanging on rough roads\
Ck exhaust pipe securements and clearances from body. huge o rings are used to suspend exhast and sometimes break and fall off.. Good luck
vibrabration on uphill acceleration
chk motor mounts by holding brake and accelerating
Sway bars seldldom are a problem unless mounting bushings are worn resal bad

Adaptive idle control - 1991 volvo 740 -B230 engine

I suggest you check your fuel pressure and your Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF). The fuel pumps and the MAF often fail causing these symptoms, but there may be other issues too. I suggest you take it to a qualified mechanic to avoid replacing unnecessary parts, since there are several possible problems.

Brake light on dasboard keeps coming on when i accelarate or start to brake also ABS light comes on somtimes .

Check the emergency brake pedal and the brake pedal, just to be sure.
