My passenger side power window will not go down. The motor is going (works), switch was replaced. I tested the wires going to the motor and it's getting power. The really odd part is it randomly works (works the other day on its own, but hasn't worked before that since I had the door apart). I thought it was maybe dirty tracks since it goes up np but won't go down. Any suggestions would help. 2009 Ford Fusion SEL AWD. All other windows work.

Could be the driver side switch. there is a power pass thru in the driver controls that if the contacts get corroded will start to cause slow and intermittent operation. Measure the voltage at the motor while actuating both the driver and passenger controls for the problem window. Also, while actuating the passenger side switch, jiggle the driver control switch to see if any change can be affected.

I replaced the driver side switches as well as the passenger side already. That did nothing but I'll fiddle around with it and see if it changes anything

Reverse your test light connector, connect it to power so you can check for ground at window motor, flip switch up or down should have ground at both wire's while flipping switch to up or down, more then likely your not going to have ground at the up position, do same test at harness before passenger door switch if no ground master switch bad.

SOURCE: 2000 ford f250 passanger side window wont go up

My passenger window just abruptly stopped working.I changed the motor on the passenger door and the driver side and passenger side switches. This did not help. I looked closely at the wires in the door boot and saw that not one, but TWO wires were cut. I have no idea how they were cut but they were cut neatly in two. I spliced them both and my passenger window works now. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2000 Mitsubishi Galant rear window only goes down

if you hot wired it straight to the motor and it works up and down fine chances are you have a broken or shorted wire between the button switch and the motor itself possibly between where the door opens and shuts at the hinge

Grounding problem with my power window motor on a 1997 chevy camero

Test the MASTER switch at the drivers side. It seems to be a "wiring problem with the Master switch. The master switch is the switch that controls ALL the cars windows.

The passenger window switch gets both power and ground from the master switch. You have replaced the passenger side switch and it still had the same result and if the wiring is good from the master switch to the passenger side switch, then the only thing left would be the power window master switch. Check all wiring of the Master switch. That's the only thing that's left to do.

Passenger window switch works but the drivers side switch does not

was regulator bad? did it work from drivers side switch before you did regulator repair?..if so passenger side switch wiring has issue and is not sending signal through it back to the drivers side master switches.. otherwise you need to pin test for power up power down on drivers side switch and repair that if issue going to the window on passenger side.. (possible pinched at door jam area common)

Passenger side power window will not go up or down when weather is hot (+100 F) . Works fine once temp drops. All other windows work fine all the time.

Hello, You need to determine if this is a switch or motor problem. If you are using the Drivers' controls for the Passengers window, try using the Passengers window control on the Passengers door. If one switch works and the other does not, then replace the bad switch.

If neither works you have to check the wiring in the door at the connector to the motor for power. You need a test light or a Voltmeter and check the power going to the Window motor by using the connector plug. Then push your window switch and see if there is power. If you have power, then it only leaves the Window motor to be the problem. Jump the connector from the motor side and see if the Window motor operates.

If you are handy, the solder on the Window motor can be bad and you only need to resolder it. If you go to replace the Window motor, be aware that the right and left sides are different. The door panels have 1 or 2 hidden screws behind trim plugs on the door handle and the speaker grille.

The temperature difference can spread a crack in a piece of Solder and this is most likely why you have a problem. I hope my solution is helpful.

more than likely one of the switches are bad (down side of switch works but up side of switch dont) being as the switches are wired together if one goes bad other one won't work either take the switch out one of back doors should be same as front passenger door put rear switch in front passenger door if works then u know front door switch is bad if it doesn't then drivers door switch is bad
u replaced window regulator Did that come with motor too??? if not check to see if motor is good
there is two wires going to motor cut isolation back on wires and using some jumper wires attach one wire to positive terminal of a 12 volt battery attach other wire to negative terminal of battery window should move up or down reverse connections and window should move other way

Looking for wiring diagram for 2001 Firebird power window. Driver side is down and won't go up. Passenger side works. I have power going to drivers side and not passenger side from the driver control...

You'll need to pull the door panel and check for power and ground at the 2 wire connector located near the window motor (there should be a dark blue wire and a brown wire). With a test light there should be power on one of the two wires at any time. If there is power on both wires with the switch in the up position than the switch is bad. If the only wire powered up in the up position is the dark blue wire than try tapping the motor while holding the switch in the up position. If it starts to work than the motor is bad.

On a side note check for power with all the connectors plugged in. You can also jump the connections at the motor. Supply a ground to the brown wire and supply power to the dark blue wire and the window should go up.

03 Chevy Venture....Clarification Passenger Window stuck down.

It will be in the switch lift up the controls on both the drivers side and passenger side the wires going into the connection wiggle then and the button at the same time if you get any movement then you have a broken wire if not use a test light hook one wire to some metal and the other to the wires if their is any power the light will come on, if no light then you probably have a broken wire. The passenger side power comes from the drivers side control. When you open the doors you will see a large black set of wiring harness in the door going into the side under the dash that is the wiring harness for all the power windows and door locks, open it and test those wires for power.
