there is nothing the shop did the that caused this they do that because of the heat inside the car sitting out in the sun

Is it a lift back or window and tail gate? Either way, there is a little hole on the inside for the escape hatch. Take a small pin, wire, coat hanger, push it straight in, it should pop the window, door, whichever, might be a small button over the hole, that way you can get the door lock fixed without smashing the lock off. I never tried mine , but I know all cars have them now. Check it out.
