This is usually fixed by replacing the TCM (transmission control module). This is a very common problem with Hondas and replacing this part almost always fixes this problem.

2013 Honda Rubicon TRX500FA, Starting in Gear / Neutral Positions

When starting in gear there is a switch , controlled by the front brake lever to avoid over revving, make sure the front brake lever is fully applied when starting in gear , if the engine starts to run rough disengage the brake lever fully, if rough running continues then likely switch needs replacing/servicing

Auto or manual? As always , auto , use the gear release tab located on the gear lever. Its covered and you will need a small flat blade to open it. Once open, use the flat blade to press the white tab down and at the same time shift the gear lever to N

There is a switch on the shift lever. When you push it it puts the transmission in sport mode and illuminates this light. http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/?wpfb_dl=1924

Is honda accord 1990 ex is a sport car

No, it is a midsize sedan. The automatic transmission gained a sport-shift mode, where gear selection could be manually chosen.moz-screenshot-4.png4ba4ba2.jpg

Where is the starter located?

Honda Accord/Prelude 1984-1995 Repair Guide

Starter
Accords and Preludes may be fitted with either a direct-drive starter or a gear reduction starter. The differences are internal and depend on the manufacturer of the starter.

The two units are similar in operation and service. Both starters are 4-pole, series wound, DC units to which an outboard solenoid is mounted. When the ignition switch is turned to the START position, the solenoid armature is drawn in, engaging the starter pinion with the engine flywheel. When the starter pinion and flywheel are fully engaged, the solenoid armature closes the main contacts for the starter, causing the starter to crank the engine

When the engine starts, the increased speed of the flywheel causes the gear to overrun the starter clutch and rotor. The gear continues in full mesh until the ignition is released from the START to the ON position, interrupting the starter current. A spring then returns the gear to its neutral position.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect both battery terminals, negative first.
  2. Disconnect the large cable from the starter motor; label and disconnect the wiring to the starter solenoid. Certain engine/transmission combinations have an engine harness secured in a clip on the starter or transaxle. Remove the harness from the clip and position it out of the way.

Fig. 2: Direct-drive starter used on some Honda models
  1. Remove the starter motor by loosening the attaching bolts.
To install:
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedures. Tighten the starter-to-engine bolts to 47 ft. lbs. (64 Nm) on the Accord V-6 and 32 ft. lbs. (45 Nm) on other models.
  2. Connect the wiring to the starter securely.
  3. Connect the battery cables, positive cable first.
STARTER SOLENOID REPLACEMENT
  1. Remove the starter from the vehicle.
  2. Remove the screws securing the solenoid to the starter housing.
  3. Pull out the solenoid. On the Nippodenso type, there is a spring on the shaft and a steel ball at the end of the shaft, be sure not to lose them. On the Mitsuba type, move the solenoid away from the plane of the armature to disengage it from the solenoid lever.
To install:
  1. Install the solenoid with a new gasket (if equipped). On the Mitsuba type, make certain the lever is correctly installed to, and engaged with, the lever. On the Nippodenso unit, make certain the steel ball and spring are correctly placed. All the sliding surfaces of the solenoid should be lightly greased before installation.
  2. Tighten the retaining screws until snug.
  3. Install the starter.
Good luck (remember rated and comment this post).

2006 honda accord: key stuck in ACC position. won't turn to O position to remove from ignition. car starts fine and is in park.

The same thing happened to my 2003 Honda Accord...took it to the dealership, and they had to replace my shift lever entirely. Something about the cable between the ignition and shift lever not being read correctly...(basically, my car is not reading that it's actually in park and therefore won't release the key)....

Gear Position light D4 is always flashing irrespective of gear.

This issue is caused by a transmission fault or malfunction, most likely a shift solenoid in the trans has failed or the trans control module has a problem, the trans can be tested for codes that will show what circuit or component of the trans controls is causing the light to stay blinking, have it tested.
