Check transmission fluid perhaps change the fluid and filter on transmission if one is fitted

Did you change distributor cap and rotor too?! maybe its been starved of fuel!! id also get a timming light and adjust distributor to get he perfect timming on engine!

iac valve is sticking remove valve and clean the shaft so it moves freely. This is a very easy fix.

exhaust possibly,or radius arm bushes,call a mobile mechanic for a hands on look at problem this sort of thing is nigh on impossible to diagnose from a description .

SOURCE: vehicle wont change up into gear reverse gear not

P0734 - 4th gear incorrect ratio. P1529 Malfunction Indicator Lamp Request. Problem is in the transmission.
Take/Tow your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

I have a 1992 Ford F350.Just replaced the rear end. It still makes a clunking noise when I put it in reverse. What could it be

the "backlash" felt by reversing the drive shaft direction is normally the clearance in the spider gears in the diff so to get rid off that ( not necessary unless it is excessive) is to pull the diff center out and fit new thrust washers behind the spider gears
next check the diff mount bushes as the diff reaction will move the bolts in the mounts and make the noise

I have a 1993 Ford Explorer that goes into high idle when I put in gear. It does this when the engine is hot or cold.

On some cars there's a speed sensor on the clutch or transmission. That might cause an idle problem.

Reverse not working at all...still goes forward with some issues.

THE FLUID LEVEL IS CHECK FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION PAN,YOU NEED A SUCTION GUN TO REFILL IT.THE INTERNAL HEX IS THE FILLER SPOT.CHECK WITH A DEALER BEFORE YOU GO FURTHER.

Your problem is very common.
you need to have your u-joints also known as universal joints. that is what the clunking noise you are hearing.

Is it a metal shaft? When you put it in drive does it make any noise? Does the speedometer move? Does it make a loud clicking sound when you put it back in Park?

Acts like it is in neutral when shifted into Drive AND when on the road it resists changing gears smoothly.

check the linkage from gearstick to gearbox .if ok .check and change transmission fluid

Solenoid Pack in the transmission is going out of it. I have put two in mine...both under warranty in my 2000 Explorer
