Driver side at knee level there is a push button for crash avoidance response ....looks like head on crash.

press and hold for 2-5 seconds until the light on instrument cluster comes "on" indicating that this feature is now turned "off"

this is will disable the response to road irregularities

it is a toggle , so you can press and hold to reverse the setting OR next time ignition is cycled it will default back to "on"

good luck !

SOURCE: it just stoped running

Depending on how much gas was in the tank and how steep the hill was, the fuel pump most likely started pumping air instead of gas, thereby stalling the engine.

How do i release rear brake

It sounds like your emergency brake cable is stuck. In you live in an area that gets snow and salted roads, and if your car is old, then it's likely that your emergency brake cable is rusted.
If you're not a do it yourselfer with your car, you'll need to take it to a brake place.

1996 intrepid rear wheel locked down possible parking brake

the brake shoe anchor pins inside the rear brake disk have rotted away by the sound of it ,doesnt this vehicle require a yearly mechanical inspection where you live with a certificate issued to use it on the road as this vehicle sound like it not roadworthy and could possibly cause a accident if the brakes failed and no emergency manual parking brake ,especially as its a american motor that no doubt has a autobox where their is no control over the slowing down via engine braking with this type of gearbox .

Esp off does touran grip better in snow. My touran poor on hills

Electronic Stability Control, works opposite to abs,in that,it stops the wheels from spinning on loose ground/snow by applying the brake to the wheel that is spinning.TURN IT OFF.you WANT the wheel to grip not brake.and as far as being poor on hills, the toureg (amongst loads of other makes of 4x4s),is NOT designed for snow/off road, the four wheel drive just ENHANCES grip/handling on tarmac.(try a Subaru on a track/off road rally).

Rear brakes locked on my 92 loyale wagon. How do I

Your rear emergency cables are frozen. You can try pulling back toward the rear of the vehicle on the center cable while someone inside wiggles the lever up and down slightly NOT all the way up. Then by grabbing individually the left cable and twisting and bending it,it may release. Do the same to the other side. Soon as you can get a can of Liquid wrench or an equivelent, NOT WD-40, and soak the two rear lines going to each wheel. ASAP, the rear cables and any other frozen/worn parts should be replaced.
