If you have an oscilloscope you can test the integrity of the circuit signals .

And a good scan tool with bidirectional abilities to activate the components to test them with the oscilloscope .

Anything from bad connections, wiring, pins at module connector and the module itself can cause this to happen . As Jeff said a professional technician will be the best choice .

SOURCE: car goes in limp mode when seeing boost

Some K&N air filters are an "oil-soaked" filter and it is that oil that can cause the problem you are having. If you want to be sure, remove the filter, clear the code(s) then drive the car. If the code(s) do not return, install a non-oil-soaked filter.

SOURCE: can I clean my Maf sensor and throttle body myself

Yes it will help car run better. Take off any hose that goes to card so that you can see down throttle bore. Start car. Grab throttle linkage and figure out how to move it so that you can make the engine go faster. Begine to spray inside throttle body using little red hose that came with carb cleaner. While you are spraying the engine will try to cut out move the throttle linkage to speed up the engine so it won't cut out. Keep spraying all around inside and outside throttle bore.

SOURCE: clogged egr valve cause

Several things can cause the engine power to be reduced. Yes, the EGR valve can affect and reduce the engines power if it is stuck open (even just partially). The valve must be in the closed position. and will open as the ECU decides to. P2138 can refer to the TPS but can also refer to the throttle pedal. Is the throttle pedal electric or does it have a cable? If it is electric then you also would need to inspect TAC unit. I hope this helps. If you have more information and or details please let me know. Good luck.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3 Check Engine Light and Reduced Engine Power. Limps at about 10mph.

First we need to know what the system trouble codes are, but the most common concern for this issue is the electronic throttle body and or the gas pedal which also has a sensor built in it if your vehicle has the electronic throttle setup. It’s usually just the throttle body itself.

On My 2004 grand price gt, My reduced engine power comes on, it slows the car down as we're driving or it's already on when we start up the car. What could cause this issue?

I have an 2004 Grand Prix with 181,000 miles on it and recently got the Reduced Engine power light and codes p0068 and p0101 after searching the web I wound up cleaning the the throttle body and MAF sensor with no luck, but after finding out where the fuel filter was I changed it, which cured the problem. How embarrassing, I have owned this car for 9 years and have had it serviced regularly, but never before changed the fuel filter. I sure the other stuff helped but the fuel filter fixed the reduced engine power problem. I had to disconnect the battery each time to get it out of limp mode and was quite frustrated at the end.

I have a 2006 Grand Prix that the reduced engine power light came on in. Its been diagnosed as the accelerator pedal to be replaced. We've replaced it and still has the problem. Any ideas?

the throttle position sensor code, if it has been replaced the codes should have been erased at the time it was done, also make sure it is adjusted correctly.
