Unless you are removing the timing belt or dismantling the entire engine, locking the cams at TDC will also lock the crank in place using the timing belt. You will need a specialist tool for this.
If you have the gearbox removed there are also tools available that you can use to lock the flywheel which locks the crankshaft.
If you have removed the timing belt use the timing marks to reposition the crank and cams.

It is the 0 but it depends on which cylinder you are trying to get to TDC and on which stroke. There are 4 strokes to the combustion process of each cylinder. They are intake, compression, power, and exhaust. To get TDC of a compression stroke ( which is where most diagnostic and firing orders are set ) take the number 1 spark plug out. Use a socket wrench to turn the engine and place your finger over the spark plug hole. When you feel the piston push air out of the cylinder you are on the compression stroke. You can then turn the engine to the 0 mark and you will be at TDC of the compression stroke.

Your better off buying a decent workshop manual, like a Haynes manual. Those bolts use two different settings to tighten them. You first use a torque setting then you use an angular torque gauge to turn the bolt an extra fixed number of degrees. Setting them wrong could blow the entire engine.
