1996 Buick century station Wagon

The car will start up and run, and then it just dies, and the gauges stop working. The lights horn and radio all still work. It"s like the key is turned just far enough forward to make the electrical work. Sometimes it will start right back up even when I'm driving put it in neautral and it starts back up, and then sometimes it won't start back up for up to 5 minutes. The car only has 105,000 miles Please help I have no clue about cars.

I would have the ignition switch checked, and replaced if that is the problem.

SOURCE: 1990 buick lesabre when in drive seems like its in neautral

Hello, I'm not sure if you are still dealing with this problem, but here are a few tips.
1.When the car is running and at normal operating temperature, check the transmission fluid level. If the transmission fluid level is low, this will cause the Transmission to slip when in drive.
2.If you transmission fluid level is low, this usually indicates you have a leak. Transmission fluid does not need to be changed like other fluids such as oil.
3.You may also want to add a "stop slip" agent to you car, this may help or possibly correct the problem.
4.If all else fails, I would recommend you take you car into a certified Transmission shop. Please vote or rate this reply if you found this reply helpful.

1996 buick century door locks won't work and radio goes to am station when you turn off the car

This same thing happened to me in my 1996 buick century just a few days ago. I have the same problem with the door locks and the radio resetting to AM too. I also have the problem of the seats not moving. I think it might be the curcuit breaker or a fusible link. I am not a mechanic, but I do have the repair manual and the mechanics book with the wiring diagrams. If you want me to send the wiring diagram I could do that. I hope that helps. Let me know what you find cause I got the same problem.
