SOURCE: Light is out in the dashboard
Remove the screws at the top of the black fascia that is in front of the clear plastic cluster lens
Pull the fascia off
Remove the 4 screws from each corner of the instrument cluster
Pull the cluster out, unplug all of the wire connectors
Do not disassemble the cluster; no need.
The bulbs are accessible at the rear of the cluster; twist to remove the bulb holders
Reassembly is easy, the connectors only fit one way.
Hope this helps.

There is a special tool that is required to hold the fan clutch. Then the fan screws out of the clutch. The tool can be bought or rented at your friendly parts store like autozone, etc. It will look something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Clutch-Water-Pulley-Holding/dp/B000RT924E
SOURCE: 1997 Toyota Tacoma v6/4x4/manual: Clutch petal/Clutch
I currently have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma, and the clutch pedal does not return all the way. I know it is not the clutch, it is actually the spring located underneath the pedal. It is catching and not releasing after pushed.... Hope it helps.
SOURCE: how to remove starter from 1997 toyota tacoma
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
On all engines except the 2UZ-FE, the starter is external, mounted in
a conventional manner, alongside the engine block. One the 2UZ-FE,
however, the starter is mounted in the 'V' of the engine, between the
cylinder head banks. The entire intake manifold assembly must be removed
to access the starter motor and solenoid. (Toyota calls the solenoid a
"magnetic switch.")
