Just bought from Dealer and day after this nonsense started Took to my mechanic Changed spark plugs Changed Coils Cleaned Fuel injectors Changed Camshaft sensor This problem seems to exist on many Jeeps out there and I was trying to do the simple non invasive stuff first What else could it be?
I had same problem with a 2006 Commander after replacing head when it dropped a valve seat. I went back and simply put plenty of dielectric grease on the plugs and in the coil boots. My problem was that the plugs were jumping fire through the coil boots because i didnt put enough grease on them. Hope this helps.

Fuel pump: The engine may crank several seconds before starting due to loss of fuel pressure caused by a bad check valve in the fuel pump assembly. (2002 models)

Check the alternator and see what charging voltage is... anything over 14.3 volts running should be suspect. If voltage is too high, it is possible that the computer is shutting down the engine to protect itself. I don't see any connection between the fuel tank problem though, unless while doing pump, someone accidentally grounded a hot lead and didn't think any damage had been done. This makes some sense, because the battery alone will lonly put out from 12-13volts, which go lower without alternator, till it reaches a point where voltage is insufficient to operate the ignition system. This is a "shot in the dark" and will likely lower my "rating" but I don't care about that... Try checking this... at least it points you in some direction rather than flailing around!!!
good luck

Probably the inertia switch for the fuel pump..You owners manual should show you where its located..See if the button has pop up ..If it has push it back down until it clicks..If it wont stay down then hold it down and see if it will start..If it does you will have to replace it..If thats all good then check the relay for the fuel pump..
