That's not the child lock. You have a problem with the locking mechanism itself / probably the actuator.

SOURCE: having problem disengaging child proof locks

There is a switch on the door along the surface that curves to seal with the body. That switch will put it in and out of safty lock. There should be a decal there that will tell you which way. Hope this helpsl

SOURCE: 1999 Honda Odyssey rear sliding doors (manual) can

1) Linkage from the inside handle became unhooked.
2) Linkage on many hondas have plastic parts that are prone to break.
3) In any case, you will have to take off the inside upholstery from the door to inspect the linkage, or other faulty part. It happened to me in my Accord. A plastic part broke in the linkage, very near the inside of the handle, i fixed it with super glue, and it lasted a week. As expected, a OEM part was needed, and fixed the problem.

How do i unlock child lock on 1996 camry

page 14 of your owners manual shows how to lock unlock the child proof setup on door -----open door and by latch will see the the lock move to unlock position ! CAUTION LOCKING WITH REAR DOOR CHILDPROTECTORS Turn the lock knob to the "LOCK" position as shown on the label. This feature allows you to lock a rear door so it can be opened from the outside only, not from inside. We recommend using this feature.... the link is a copy of your owners manual

Why will my drivers door not open, even though it locks and unlocks with key fob.

Sounds like the activator rod that goes from the door Handle to the latch is disconnected. You will have to get the door open to repair it and a good mechanic or tow truck driver can use a slim Jim kit to get the latch to release and then you can pull the door panel and find the problem.

My back doors wont open

If your back doors won't open from the inside then the child proof locks maybe turned on. Open the door from the outside and look at the edge of the door near the lock for a small lever or screw setting for the child proof lock. Tun off the child proof lock and then you can open the back door from the inside.

Door on 95 geo metro 4 door won't close because the child proof lock in on and I can't get it to go off. Door won't stay shut. Any ideas how to fix this?

Your childproof lock have nothing to do with the latch not closing. It only makes it where you can not open the door from the inside. I would think you are in need of a new latch.

the inside door handle is probably broken. the cable may have popped out but usually its because the clips on the inside door handle break off. luckily you can just replace the handle and not have to get a whole new door panel

The passenger rear door on the left will not open...

I don't believe I have seen a Volvo four door hatch-back here in the US, but my guess would be child-proof locks on the rear. Open the front doors and look for any switches on the front edge of the back doors. If there aren't any, check the owner's manual before contacting your dealer.
