Hello Robert Wenig...
BEFORE assuming the JOB was bad...
you should attempt to verify that the
BATTERY & GROUND are there (working
when you are in REVERSE).
Totally FREE...
you can go to a CIRCUIT DRAWING site and
select your specific year, make & model
on BBB Industries at:
bbind.com
These are REAL documents so registration
is required...
Hope this helps

SOURCE: easy in/out function on Mercedes E350 doesn't work
I will try to help. If the function is to move the seat automatically for entering or exiting the vehicle, then this function is often on a Menu list. Sometimes when an oilchange place resets the oil change interval, the wrong button gets pushed and wipes out the settings for something else, like your in and out assist. It may also happen if the Battery was disconnected.
Now if the power to the seat has a broken fuse, you should check your sseat controls to see if they still move. If not a fuse needs to be changed and a repair made. The loss of power to the seat motor is the reason the automatic movement does not work.
If the steering wheel and column is also tied in to easy access, it may be fused separately and still work.
