SOURCE: Audi A4 "left dipped headlight" problem

AUDI A4- 2005. There is a technical service bulletin for this exact problem. take it to the dealer when this issue has happened while driving. During a daytime drive when cold see if you cant get the light to fail while circling your dealer. As soon as you pull into the service drive do not turn the car off do not flip the switch. I am an Audi Technician for a dealer in Birmingham alabama. Personally this is not my favorite repair to perform; What audi states is that if the bulb flickers the bulb should be replaced; if one side fails the bulb should be swapped left to right if the fault continues with the bulb the bulb is at fault; if the bulb is swapped and the bulb fails again on the same side it is the module. NOW: I currently am working on a 05 A4 that both bulbs both modules have been replaced and Audi has no clue what to advise on a repair. THIS IS AN ISSUE if it has happened to you ask if there is a TSB for this issue or try to find it for yourself.

SOURCE: Audi A4 "left dipped headlight" problem

Hi,I dont know if your Audi has the same problems as SAAB and VW but they suffer from what is called a dry joint on the circuit board inside the headlamp control relay, what happens is as the board heats up it causes expansion/contraction on the bad solder joint causing all sorts of component failures headlamps just being one of them, remove the relay and open it and on close inspection you will find the (dry joint/s) if your handy with a soldering iron a fraction of the price of some of these relays, you can re-melt the solder on the bad joints to cure the problem.

SOURCE: jetta headlights not working

Ignition switch will cause you to loose your head lights and turn signals. You will still be able to start the car and hold the switch for your brights but normal function is gone. Check it out it usually only runs about $20-$30 for replacement part but you need a special puller to get to it.

SOURCE: Audi A4 "left dipped headlight" problem

I have the same issue on my 2002 A4. According to my Audi dealer mechanic, there is a sensor on the front suspension that controls the angle of the headlight. Replacing this may resolve the issue.

Hello I have a 2004 a4 turbo 1.8 .. Why does the hazard light switch stay on after vehicle is turned off

Hazard lights or 4 way flashers do not go off when the key is off, you have to turn the switch off or it will stay on until it drains the battery.

To me it sounds like you have a bulb about to burn out or already burnt out. check all of your bulbs and replace the one or ones that are bad.

Lights dont work when turned on but running lights come on. Is there a light relay i need to change. 97 a4 2.8 quattro whats the relay number

Your headlight switch is melted internally - happens a lot on the A4. You need a new switch and install includes removal of the airbag and steering wheel. Not tough to do as long as you know how to work safely around airbags. If not, have it installed by a pro - airbags can kill you if you're unsure of what you're doing.

Cold Weather causing the Left Rear Brake light to come on

That's the most interesting problem I've heard all week. I'm pretty sure this has to be problem in the switch that operates the light. Are you positive it's the brake light and not just the tail light? Tail light switch is part of the headlight switch. If you're sure it's the brake light, replace the switch under the brake pedal arm, under your dash. I think this is the problem because unless the circuit is engaged at these switches, it's impossible to activate them from anywhere else. Brake switch is easy. You can do it your self. Headlight switch usually involves removing the steering wheel and is kind of a pain but not too overwhelming.

Turn signal solenoid is located where for a 1997 Quattro A4?

The relay is built into the hazard light switch. The part is $40 or less at a dealership. It's a common failure. I do a lot of Audi repairs and keep four or five on hand at all times just because of the frequency with which they fail.
