Why do you need to remove the windshield? The sensor is attached to the inside of the glass and can be remove separately.
Most modern windshields are bonded into place. That means they use a type of glue to fit them. You safest option is to get a good windshield fitting company to do it for you.
The glue they use has to be cut out. If that's not possible you might need to smash the glass to remove the windshield.

Well, the vehicle was slightly d in a residential fire, we are parting out what parts are still good. I have someone who is interested in purchasing the windshield from me. I've removed a windshield or two in the past but they were on much older cars, and had no sensors involved. :] Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it.

SOURCE: remove rear door panel on x type jaguar

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

SOURCE: 2002 jaguar x-type radio

I have the same problem, the speakers are "burned", you need to repair them or change them, I went to a place where repair car stereos, old tvs, etc., they "rewire" or change the wires in the back of the speaker, where regular speakers have magnet, he told me not to replace the speakers for another ones, he told me that this ones are Alpine (they don´t have any label) speakers and that they are better than most commercial ones, he charge me about $50 usd, Good Luck!

SOURCE: My 2002 s type jaguar doesn't heat. the fans

Probably the heater control valve, had same issue, started with one side not hot, then erratic, hot then cold while heat is set to hot, now both side are cold to lukewarm. diagnosed as heater control valve, common for jag s-types and x-types. located on the passenger side, down low the side of the radiator, it has several hoses into and out of valve, and a electrical connector.

SOURCE: Hi, i have a 2002 jaguar x-type 2.1v6. the engine

Sensor 2 bank 1 is near the bulkhead prior to the cat. (the black connector) you will need a special tool to remove it (22mm,50mm deep socket with a slot cut down it) and its a bit tight but you can just get your arm in there from the offside (UK). Disconnect the connector release the sensor with the socket, once loose it's a very simple job just unscrew replace and tighten up. Reconnect the sensor and the fault light should clear when you start the car.

If the faulty sensor is one of the inner sensors the bumper has to come of. If it is a outer sensor only half the bolts on that side have to be removed. Start by partly removeing the under wing shield and there is access to the bolts, open the boot remove plastic shut trim and more bolts. Pull back side carpets remove the black side plates to get to more bolts remove bumper and replace the faulty sensor leave the bumper connected and pointing away and test before refitting.

Code for radio after battery replecament I own a 2003 X-Type SE 2,5L manual gear and my radio asks for a code. Could anyone please assist. Thank you

Hi,

In order to find the code for this radio, you will need to remove the radio from the dash to find the serial number which will be stamped on the case or on a label attached to the case.

Post up the details including all numbers you find on the radio. Some of these radios can be decoded easily from the serial but others cannot dependant on the version you have in your X-Type.

We will be happy to look at it for you and advise from there.

Exhaust issue

Most likely the heat shield has corroded off and is just sitting on top of the muffler or Catalytic converter. Regardless you can remove the shield and still run the the Xterra without any problems, the OEM muffler came with a heat shield as to the after market mufflers don't have one. The Catalytic converter also has a shield and you can remove it also as the Xterra has a heat shield on the floor board it self. Most exhaust shop if honest will tell you to just remove the rattling shield if there is no exhaust leaks or no Check engine light on that monitor's the Catalytic converter's performance.
A muffler shop if shady may advise you to replace the Catalytic converter and that can go for up to and beyond $400.00, so as long as there is no leaks or check engine light on. Go right ahead and remove the rattling shield.
