There are multiple possibilities for your symptoms. How many miles are on your car? Is the engine light on while running? There are somethings you can do and check. Please look at your owners manual and verify that maintenance is up to date. You can remove and clean the MAF sensor and Throttle Body. If you are not familiar with cleaning these components, ask first. Special care must be taken. You can contact the dealer (service dept.) or a professional shop to see if there are any Recalls or Service Bulletins pertaining to your issue. If the car has more than 50k miles. Ask a mechanic (that you trust) to inspect the A/T fluid (both for level and color). You will need to drop it off for a few hours. The tech will need time for the fluid to cool down before checking. The A/T fluid level is checked from the bottom (does not have a dip stick) and he or she will use a scan tool to verify temperature to check level then color. Traditionally the dealer will refuse to inspect or change the transmission fluid until it reaches 100k miles. I highly recommend changing the fluid as needed and as early as 50k miles. After that you may want to send the car in for diagnostics. There is a lot going on in todays engines. Any number of faults could cause a shift issue. Please let me know if there is anything else. Good Luck.

SOURCE: My 2002 Hyundai Elantra Gt (2.0L)engine runs rough

The Hyundai online shop manual and my newly arrived Hyundai shop manual kept pointing to the coil as a possible problem. While preparing to check coil continuity I discovered the pigtail connected to the bottom of one of the coils was loose and the contacts were burned. This is the coil that supplies spark to plugs 1 & 4, the same ones that kept showing up each time the check engine light illuminated. After cleaning the contacts and making sure the pigtail was securely attached to the base of the coil I have had no further problems.

SOURCE: My RX300 lexus do not accelerate. after diagnosing

Hi Derrick, Have look at the rubberized plastic intake manifold ducting. between the throttle body and the air flow sensor. These ducts break and let in un metered air and cause a lack of power and and even misfiring. If it's broken underneath and difficult to detect or see it may have gone unnoticed. A leakage of air from there can cause the fault readings recorded during a scan. Regards John

Engine vibrates without pressure on the accelerator. Does not vibrate when pressed. Please tell me why.

In no particular order.

Dirty spark plugs causing a misfire.
Tickover too low.
Dirty fuel injectors
Worn engine mounts rocking the engine.
It's a diesel engine (if it is).

'year make model' in all questions please.

I have a 2010 RX350 which makes a humming noise between 30-35 mph, both while accelerating and decelerating. It's loud and driving me nuts. What could it be?

It could be bad tires to worn motor mounts.
If the tires are in good shape, rotate them to see if it makes a difference. If not, you could have a bad hub, or motor mount, based on the minimal information. The transmission and drive axle are also possible problems.

1998 lexus gs300 runs at 2800 rpm at 65 mph

At a steady 65 mph, the torque converter clutch (TCC) is engaged. When you accelerate, the ECU disengages the TCC to gain extra torque for acceleration and then re-engages TCC when speed is steady. Its kind of like having an extra gear.

Vibrating noise at 2-3 rpm during acceleration after car warm up.

Is there a way you can Clarify your Question? There is a lot of words that are not meaning anything.. Is 2-3 RPM an accurate comment or are you meaning 2,000 - 3,000 RPM ?

Lexus RX 300 RPM go up when driving at 40 MPH

Is it a standard? If so sounds like the clutch is giving up and needs replacing. If it is an automatic then check fluid level might be low, that can cause slippage.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2003 vibrations at 30 mph to 45 mph only when accelerating. What could cause this? Not sure about the first answer, any second opinions?

One possible cause is a worn universal joint. The first symptoms are usually a powertrain vibration at a certain rpm or speed. A visual inspection will sometimes show powdery residue by one of the bearing caps.

Shudders(shakes) at about 60mph

You may have worn out CV joints on the front wheel drive axles, they vibrate/shudder badly if they are really worn out.
