I have a 2012 PX Ranger;3.2 6-speed manual. When towing my boat (1.8 tonne) after approx. 1.5 hours driving the clutch pedal falls to the floor. The pedal travel to disengage the clutch is no more than 50mm at best. After a couple of days without towing the clutch returns to normal. Ford have flushed the system twice. It has haapened 3 times towing up hill and once going down hill.
One of two things is wrong with your truck. Either the hydraulic clutch has a worn component that needs to be replaced or the clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced. If this failure only occurs while towing. I suspect the clutch is slipping, heat from the pressure plate is heating the fluid inside the hydraulic clutch and causing it to drop to the floor. Some diagnostics is needed to confirm.

The dealership has their place but I don't recommend them for everything. What were you told? Did ford test drive your truck, find nothing and recommended a flush? The thing is I wouldn't have recommended this service unless I was replacing the clutch master or slave cylinder (because they were leaking or bypassing). Take a look at your slave cylinder, do you see a bleeder screw? To properly flush this system Would take up to 2hrs (Without a bleeder screw). If you have any other needs please feel free to write back.

As you say it is possible to refill the sealed type of hydraulic clutch pipes fitted to the laguna with a little care from the dry break joint mounted on the gear box housing. The problem being that a little air in the system becomes compressible unlike the hydraulic fluid. This air bubble rises to one of the two high points within the master cylinder pipe run where it can't escape. (1), By releasing the pipe within the engine bay (gearbox dry break joint to bulkhead) and holding it upwards in a straight-ish line to enable the air to rise to the top, before refilling. (2), just above the master cylinder the pipe goes up and over the brake pedal shaft (RHD cars) before running below this shaft to the left hand side of the bulkhead where it passes through to the engine bay.
Note I was also lucky enough to break the plastic ball joint on the clutch master cylinder to pedal. For this I was able to fabricate one out of metal which should be more substantial than the original.

The hydraulic clutch master cylinder is defective or the slave cylinder at the bell housing, it is recommended they replaced in pairs.
SOURCE: the clutch pedal sticks down when trying to engage
YOU DO NEED A NEW DISC AND MOST LIKELY A MASTER AND SLAVE HYDRAULIC CLUTCH CYLINDERS, THE STICKING MAY BE DUE TO OVER TRAVEL DUE TO THE WORN OUT DISK.

sounds like your clutch master cylinder or slave is no good. do your self a favor and replace them both if you are going to be replacing them.
