You must have chip keys. If you get 3 you can program a new one yourself. Call dealers and get prices and call locksmiths and get prices. Vary greatly.

SOURCE: need to remove the ignition lock cylinder to replace it cause the key is lost

turn the ignition to the on position then on the bottom of the steering colum just under the lock cylender thare is a hole that leads up to the cylender. get a straight pick or somthing with a point on it and insert in hole apply a little steady force while pulling straight out on the cylender. i am assuming you are talking about the ignition lock cylender.

SOURCE: disable transponder chip keys

You have to measure the resistance across the key and get a resistor of the same value at radio shack and jump it across the wires at the security box, this way the security system thinks the key is always inserted. We did this with 1989 firebird some years ago and it worked great.

2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. What and where are the diodes please?

Probably a broken wire in the loom.
Check for continuity with your test meter and oscilloscope.

1999 grand Marquis will quit starting randomly without any cranking either. It will start if the car and steering wheel is shaken vigorously while turning the key. Why?

I would guess that one of the wires to the ignition switch or the switch itself is intermittent. Replacing ignition switch will likely fix it.

I lost the key for ignition what do i need to do

you need to take proof of ownership to a mercury dealer, if you cannot find one try a ford or lincoln dealer. they should be able to hook you up without getting a new lock cylinder.

Need replacement ignition key for my 1987

A 1987 does not have the theft prevention chip in the key, so yes, you can. In case it is a 1997, you need the chipped key to start the vehicle. This would have to be aquired from the dealer.
