    Sorry , wrong info . Your vehicle has two crankshaft position sensors - A- B 24x & 7x
    • Camshaft position (CMP) sensor

The CMP sensor signal is a digital ON/OFF pulse, output once per revolution of the camshaft. The CMP sensor does not directly affect the operation of the ignition system. The CMP sensor information is used by the PCM to determine the position of the valve train relative to the crankshaft position. By monitoring the CMP and CKP signals the PCM can accurately time the operation of the fuel injectors. The PCM supplies the sensor with a 12-volt reference, low reference, and signal circuit.

Learning to view scan data an use proper diagnostic procedures is the way to find the problem , not guessing an just replacing parts .

    Crankshaft position (CKP) sensors

The CKP sensor B is a variable reluctance sensor. The magnetic field of the sensor is altered by a crankshaft mounted reluctor wheel that has seven machined slots, six of which are equally spaced 60 degrees apart. The seventh slot is spaced 10 degrees after one of the 60 degree slots. This sensor provides the ignition control module (ICM) with 7X signals, or seven pulses for each revolution of the crankshaft. The pulse from the 10 degree slot is known as the sync pulse. Both of the sensor circuits are connected to the ignition control module (ICM). A signal converter within the ICM produces digital 3X output pulse to the powertrain control module (PCM), the 3X reference is known as the low resolution engine speed signal.

The CKP sensor A contains a hall-effect switch. A hall-effect switch is a solid state switching device that produces a digital ON/OFF pulse when a rotating element passes between the sensor tip and a magnet. This rotating element is called an interrupter ring or blade. In this case the interrupter ring has 24 evenly spaced blades and windows and is part of the crankshaft damper assembly. This sensor provides the PCM with 24X signals, or 24 identical pulses per crankshaft revolution. The 24X signal is used for enhanced smoothness and idle stability at a lower calibrated RPM. The PCM supplies the sensor with a 12-volt reference, low reference, and signal circuit.

The following describes the PCM to ICM circuits:

    - Low resolution engine speed, 3X reference--PCM input--From the ICM, the PCM uses this signal to calculate engine RPM and CKP. The PCM also uses the pulses on this circuit to initiate injector operation.

This crank sensor is located in the side of the engine block

Check the fuse for the injectors, some vehicles have the injectors and coil running on the same circut, at the same time check the fuse for the ignition.

I would be thinking that there is a good chance that you need to be checking out replacing the computer, if you aren't getting any communication with the proper scan tool then the computer isn't communicating with anything in the vehicle...... I would have guessed first off that the ignition control module might be bad but that is obviously part of the computer also, I would be looking in that direction.

Lincoln car 2003 fuel pump good all sender good but fuel injector not spraying why

Your question states that the fuel pump is good. If you are sure that your fuel pump is good, then it's time to look into your "fuel injector not spraying". Also check all your fuses. It would suck if it's just a fuse :-). Go to your local parts place like advance or autozone and pick up what is called a noid light. This little light plugs into the connector that plugs to the injector. Crank the engine and see if the light flashes when you crank. If the light flashes, check a few others to make sure they work also. That means you're getting an injector pulse and they should be spraying. Look into a fuel pressure problem. If the light does not flash, obviously you are not getting an injector pulse. The sensors that would affect an injector pulse are cam sensors or ignition module. You vehicle may have one or both of them. The crank sensor contributes to spark and cam sensor to injector pulse. Check that you have crank signal also in case you gave multiple problems. Those sensors send signals to the computer but ultimately the injectors get their signal from the computer. If all else is good then it's possible that you may have a bad EM (computer). Further diagnostics may be necessary to determine that. I hope this information has helped some. Good luck.

87 chevy s10 blazer 2.8 has power to all related components but no spray from injectors cranks but wont start

Use a noid light or other tool for checking the injector pulse is present.

If injectors have a pulse when the engine is cranked the reason there is no spray is there is no fuel pressure - fuse, relay, pump, wiring, pipework, filter. Water in the fuel tank is also a possibility.

If there is no pulse it could be crank or cam sensor, fuse, wiring or even the ECU.

My 2000 Pontiac grand prix stop running the other day. It turns over just fine but it won't fire up could it be anything other than the fuel pump. ( I really don't want to change that)

its pretty simple to check for fuel pressure. If there is no fuel pressure than the next step is to check for power and ground at the pump. if those check out then a new fuel pump should fix the problem.

your engine needs 3 things to run. fuel, spark, and compression. if you have fuel pressure than check for spark. if there is no spark than there could an issue with a crank or cam sensor. If the crank sensor is bad than typically there will be no injector pulse as well. after cranking it over a couple times pull a plug and see if it is wet. if it is you know the crank sensor is working and the fuel pump is working and you have a spark issue. If it is dry than there is a fuel delivery issue (fuel pump/injector/injector pulse/etc.)

there are many things you can check very easily to help narrow down the possibilities.

I have a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero 3.4L that wont start. I have done fuel pressure test 50-55 psi and plugs have good spark. However when done light test on injectors there is no response so there is no pulse....

Is the security light staying on ?
Usually the engine will not crank and you have no power to the fuel pump if the security system is disabling the car.
No injector pulse but spark would point to the computer since both use input from the crank and cam sensors.

1998 grand maquis crank no start no injector pulse as well as no ignition spark. Have changed crank sensor, cam sensor, fuel pump, pcm, injectors and still no start no voltage to sensors or injectors.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

No injector pulse, new battry, fuel pump, crank sensor, check all grounds still no start on 1988 pontiac grand prix 2.8l do u think computer bad

my first thought based on what I could see in your description (you cannot see the entire post until you click on it) was the ECU-you have done a check of the fuel pressure, and checked the regulator for leaks, correct? I would try a junkyard ECU (25 to 50 dollars in most places) or on ebay. Also carefully examine the crank sensor connector, and the harness itself for damage-no crank sensor signal, no pulse. ECU's do not normally go bad, but it does happen.

If you remove the fuel line and crank the engine and get fuel then you could be assured that the crank sensor works but if there is no fuel while cranking then the crank sensor is most likely the fault. If the crank sensor is not the problem then it is most likely in the coil or distributor which the 97 is notorious for.

I have a 1995 chevrolet blazer that wont started by cranking it but it will start when u spray gas in to it and we replace the fuel pump. what could make this happen?

The injectors are pulsed from the cam ,and the crank sensor, the cam sensor starts the pulse,so I would suggest replacement of the cam sensor.
