SOURCE: Will transmission from blazer 93 fit to blazer 95
Gear ratio allows you to choose from a wide range of vehicle speed, the lower the gear ratio, the more power for your vehicle to climb but will compromise your speed while high final ratio gives you more speed, but compromises your ability to climb.
I suggest you look for the same gear ratio so as not to complicate things,
On Do it your self test would be to count the number of turns on the input shaft of your transmission as against the output shaft by manually rotating the shaft by hand and place a mark where you started and count the number of turns made by the output shaft by rotating one full turn the input shaft, this on drive positon.
DO it on both transmission to compare.
SOURCE: need to locate the neutral safety switch on a 2005 chevy equinox
The park / neutral switch is on top of the transmission. It has a 2 wire connector. the wire colors are pink and orange/black. Tech jk

i had the same problem, and it turned out the coil pack was moulding inside wich stopped the spark all together, i ended up changing my coil pack and putting on new wires because the ends connected to the coil were very corroded and that cures the not running part just fine
enjoy
SOURCE: I can't find the thermostat location on a 2005
the thermostat is under the throttle body
remove the air box and the throttle body
remove the top thermostat bolt
the bottom thermostat bolt remove 95% the hole is slotted
replace thr t-stat and reassemble
IMPORTANT
if you have anLX9 engine there will be air bleed scews
if you have an LZ9 it will not have air bleed screws
ok if you have bleed screws open both then fill the rad wait till a STEADY STREAM of coolant is coming out then close bleed screws
start the vehicle put your heater on HOT and VENT AND BLOWER ON HIGH
run vehicle till u get HOT NOT WARM AIR coming out of vents this will insure you have no air in the cooling system
now if you have no bleeders
then fill the rad then install the rad cap
start the engine run engine 2,000-2,500 RPM till the temp. gauge reads about normal about half way
then let the vehicle idle for 3 min
then shut the vehicle off and cool down so the rad cap can be removed
SAFELY
top up coolant
also make sure there is good hot air coming out of the heater if not repeat procedure there is still air in the cooling system
hope you found this helpfull
