Your temperature sensor may be signaling that your coolant is low. Also if this is so why is it low, possibly a leak or bad head gasket. Check and see. Good Luck Friend.

SOURCE: 1999 Lincoln Navigator stops blowing hot air

Since your blower is working and it is a heat issue, thats where we'll start,First thing is have you checked the coolant level in the radiator when engine is cold, make sure it is filled to top, next verify you have coolant in reserve ,Start your van and get it up to normal operation temperature,If your heat gauge on the dash works correctly it should be 190 degrees,Now lift the hood and locate the two heater hoses going into the heater assembly at the fire wall,Both hoses should be hot to hold on to,if both are hot and no heat inside your problem will be the blend air door in heater assembly.
if neither hose is that hot you need to replace the thermostat in the engine to get it up to 195 degrees.
if one hose is hot and one is luke warm then the heater core is blocked and to blame. hope this helps you.

  1. If the inspection reveals an obvious concern that can be readily repaired, correct the concern before continuing with Inspection and Verification.
  1. If the concern remains after the inspection, use the scan tool connected to the data link connector (DLC) to retrieve continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and to execute On-Demand Self-Test diagnostics for the 4WAS module.
    • If the On-Demand Self-Test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, GO to Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics.
    • If DTCs are retrieved, go to the 4WAS Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index in this section.
    • If the 4WAS module cannot be accessed by the scan tool, Go To Pinpoint Test A .

I have a 2004 Lincoln Navigator with 35,000 miles. Lately I get a loud noise at higher RPMs like going up hill at around 60 MPH. Sounds like I am dragging a huge piece of tinfoil under the front end of the...

It could be spark knock. You should have a sensor to keep that from happening. So will a tank of Premium gas.

Another possibility is a loose heat shield on the exhaust system. Lincolns usually have longer warranties, call a dealer and see if it is covered. If it is part of the emissions system, the warranty is even longer.
