First, I'm not a Toyota representative.
* Take your car to the nearest Toyota dealer/shop.

*** Following is for information only.***
* Starting Fluid???? Did you pour this in the tank or carb? (make a difference)
* Did you read and follow the instructions for this "Starting Fluid"
* There are gas additives to improve performance, clean engine, increase octane, stabilize ethanol, etc.
* I've never heard of "starting fluid" that is poured into tank. (though I could be wrong. Maybe some "newfangled" thing from China? (hey, I'm Chinese so I can say that.)
* Most Engine Cold starts are in spray form usually called "Carb Cleaner", Cold Engine start spray, Or generic Acetone spray. Remove the air filter and couple of sprays in carb tunnel then start car. May need to do it several times in real cold weather.
* If this is not the same stuff you used then you will need to take care down to shop to drain tank, replace fuel filter, clean out carb.
* Be careful and read instructions or ask the counter guy for help.

SOURCE: my 1984 toyota corolla ran out of gas now it wont idle

Quick explanation of your fuel system:

An automotive fuel system consists of everything between the fuel tank and the carburetor or fuel injection unit. This includes the tank itself, all the lines, one or more fuel filters, a fuel pump (mechanical, electric, or both), and the carburetor or fuel injection unit.
With the exception of the carburetor or fuel injection unit, the fuel system is quite simple in operation. Fuel is drawn or pumped from the tank through the fuel line by the fuel pump, which forces it through the fuel filter, and from there to the carburetor/injection unit where it is distributed to the cylinders.

So with that info...try first to clean your spark plugs.
Next, replace your fuel filter.
After that, depending on a carburetor/fuel injection, try an additive that cleans the injectors. For the carburetor, try a half of can of what is called "Seafoam". It comes in a metal can available everywhere, including Walmart. It is worth the $6-8 and also will "dry" out your fuel from water. Very good product.

After that, get back to us and let us know how your Toyota is running.

SOURCE: Ran out of gas 90 toyota corolla fuel injection

Sounds like air in the fuel line. Try turning the key ON and pumping the gas pedal (it may take 10-15 times) and then try to start the car. You need to force gas through the fuel lines to dispel the air it was pumping when the car ran out of gas. If it doesn't work the first time, let it rest and repeat by pumping the gas. Best of luck!

99 Toyota Corolla, crossed the jumper cables trying to start, 100 amp main fuse blew. What other damage could keep it from not starting

I would try a few bottles of Drygas and check the fuel filter. Don't drain out the fuel until you try this.

My 1990 toyota corolla idles rough. I raised the idle on the throtle body so engine wont stall. except for idle, car runs fine

Vacuume leak is very probabe, check vacuum hoses for leaks, gasket leak at intake manifold or throttle body etc. I like to use starting fluid and spray around a bit. If you spray it on a vacuum leak, your rpms will noticably go up.

Gas not getting to the carburator. Starter turns

Check all of the fuel lines very carefully for breaks or cracks in the fuel lines, especially between the fuel tank and the fuel pump.

If the fuel lines are all in good condition then you can safely assume that the problem is in the fuel pump and you will need to replace it. (If the fuel pump is in really bad shape the engine oil on the end of the engine oil dip-stick will smell like fuel)

1989 toyota corolla will not start

You have soaked all your electrical. All you can do is get an air hose and try to blow everything off as well as you can. Take apart what you can, and blow it out. If it doesn't go, you'll just have to wait.

88 Toyota Corolla backfires through carburetor.

If that is carbureted, and has a mechanical fuel pump, try running a length of fuel line from inlet side of pump to a gas can that has fresh, clean fuel, and if it runs good that way, you know problem is most likely in the tank. Removing the tank & cleaning it out is best solution from there. I'd even be tempted to add a small bottle or 2 of Lucas Fuel Sytem Cleaner to first fill in clean tank, just to help clean lines as well as carb.
