This job requires the complete removal of the dash from the car and dis-assembly of the duct work to replace the blend door. You must have a factory manual to have any chance of not messing this up completely.

AC , HVAC cooling and heating topic BLEND DOOR OPS.
well the door most not be jammed up we turn it by hand to learn this.
we remove he damper actuator motor and turn the shift by hand,.
the service manual covers all this,
on most cars, panels on the dash are removed, and even glove box
to reach all actuators.

This morning we turned the heater on. When we turned the knob on the dash all that came out was cold air. We tried every setting on the postion for the air to come out. It still was the same

Your thermostat may have gone bad. I have a 1999 Toyota Camry, had sim. problem, changed thermostat, fixed problem and was getting warm air again.

Heater

the 1st thing is to see if the heater core has flow, check this by touching the in and out hose of the core at the engine firewall, if both are hot then the heater core is ok, at that point u will have to check the blend door to see if it moves, this door diverts the air over the hot heater core or the cold AC evaporator core, it is often controlled by a small special electric motor, it is called the blend door actuator motor, if it fails it will useually fail in the cold air position, to change this motor u must remove the dash.
