You don't have a short in the fuse box ! Before you cause more problems ,take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . The fuse just supplys battery voltage for the wiper's . I guarantee it's not the fuse box . The fuse for the front wipers is located in the rear fuse box . FRT WPR fuse # 33 25 amp. The rear fuse box is located under the left rear seat. I would bet the pluse board on the front of the wiper motor is bad , not the fuse box . I have thirty years of GM dealer ship experience as a technician . Just because pulling the fuse turns them off doesn't mean there is a short in the fuse box , it's just cutting battery voltage to the wiper motor . Wiper motor pulse board is bad , these go out all the time an cause the problem your having .

definitely clean the throttle body. I just had that same problem myself. Replaced battery and the truck would die with the air compressor on. I was told that the throttle body needed cleaned out...and sure enough, when i took it off; boy was it carboned up!! have to clean it really well with either carburetor cleaner or brake parts cleaner....oh yeah, and a toothbrush..and I was also told that the truck had to relearn the idle position after doing all that. so you drive it around for about 10-15 minutes and come back home...turn it off...then restart the truck...and it should be fine after that.
Check or replace the battery to body ground wire. 3 main grounds are battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body.
