I need to know how to repair or replace the interior fuse box guts on a 2004 GMC Envoy 6cyl I would like to know how to take out the interior fuse box guts to check to see if I have a short. The windshield wipers do not shut off until I pulled the fuse. If I leave the door open for 10 secs, it ackd like battery is dead. Both battery and alt have been checked and are fine. Any thoughts? I am a pretty smart guy and can follow directions well and have been tinkering with cars for 30 years.

You don't have a short in the fuse box ! Before you cause more problems ,take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . The fuse just supplys battery voltage for the wiper's . I guarantee it's not the fuse box . The fuse for the front wipers is located in the rear fuse box . FRT WPR fuse # 33 25 amp. The rear fuse box is located under the left rear seat. I would bet the pluse board on the front of the wiper motor is bad , not the fuse box . I have thirty years of GM dealer ship experience as a technician . Just because pulling the fuse turns them off doesn't mean there is a short in the fuse box , it's just cutting battery voltage to the wiper motor . Wiper motor pulse board is bad , these go out all the time an cause the problem your having .

SOURCE: REPLACED BATTERY IN 2004 GMC ENVOY. NOW GOES DEAD

definitely clean the throttle body. I just had that same problem myself. Replaced battery and the truck would die with the air compressor on. I was told that the throttle body needed cleaned out...and sure enough, when i took it off; boy was it carboned up!! have to clean it really well with either carburetor cleaner or brake parts cleaner....oh yeah, and a toothbrush..and I was also told that the truck had to relearn the idle position after doing all that. so you drive it around for about 10-15 minutes and come back home...turn it off...then restart the truck...and it should be fine after that.

SOURCE: 2004 gmc envoy.. just had Battery replaced and needed 2sensors. Since then my radio, hear, power doors, car alarm arent working. fuses were all checked .. everything's good.

Check or replace the battery to body ground wire. 3 main grounds are battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body.

2004 GMC envoy xuv cargo dome lights not working. Looking for the fuse # for them or the problem. The other lights inside the car work. Just the back cargo area is not.

Hi,

Please open your fuse box to check if you notice any fuses that are discolored or (potentially) burnt. if you find one, that fuse might be linked to the dome lights.

To be sure, please call your local advanced auto parts to verify the fuse # is correct and then you can order the fuse through advanced autoparts.

Thank you.

Where is fuse located for horn (driver) 2004. Gmc envoy

If possible, pull the horn relay, use jumper wire on switch side of relay, right side in diagram. If the horn sounds, it's not the fuse. Sometimes these diagrams don't post, for some reason? good luck

2004 envoy fuse box diagram

Below are some diagrams for you. If you have the XL model there it will be different for the rear passenger compartment fuse panel which I did not include. I did include if you had a 6 or 8 cylinder engine for the under the hood fuse panel because there is a difference. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. If you do not and would like a copy, you can email me at [email protected] with your make, model and year and I will be happy to email you a copy. I hope this helps and good luck.

Just trying to figure out which fuse is for the dome lights in my 2004 GMC Envoy. I was replacing dome lights in the interior and they just went out.

There is a fuse box under the back seat on the left hand side. The fuses you need to ck are fuse#4 tbc3 fuse and fuse# 40 tbc 4 fuse. The dome lights operate through the bcm.
