SOURCE: Kenmore heavy duty dryer model#86870800 wont start running

Hi ya, rkallen
Welcome to fixya.com

You said, when we push the start button, it will lightly click like it is ready to go but wont actually start. Is it the starter button that is bad? How hard is that to change ourselves? Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have a bad starter switch inside or a bad relay.
Doing it your self you will not be able to determine if it is the starter switch or the relay. You need someone who knows how to use test equipment!

Web site and schematics below. You can open them into the whole window and buy parts there too!

SOURCE: Starter problems

you need to check and see if you have 12volts at the relay and if you have 12volts at the wire from the switch on the relay. if you are getting power to the wire from the switch then you may have a bad starter relay.

SOURCE: I want to install Toyota OEM remote starter to my 2009 Venza.

Do not install the OEM starter - it only works from about 80 feet away and is quite problematic. I just purchased a new V6-AWD with the push button start and the dealer is taking the OEM start out as we speak and taking it for an after market starter.

If you decide to do it yourself (you'll need to be quite mechanically inclined for this install), check youtube as the poster above has suggested - but again I highly suggest you consider an aftermarket starter and save the money that I didn't.

SOURCE: starter works intermittantly.push the button &

You need a test light on the starter terminal when it won't start. Attempt the start and if the light comes on, but the motor doesn't, the motor is defective. In that case, remove the starter from the engine and inspect each brush located at the opposite end from the drive for excess wear or weak spring tension that holds the brush in place. Don't rotate the brush 180 degrees when replaced. I don't know if rebuild kits are available--check with a dealer. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: car wont start radio on and air comes on

I had the same problem...My brother-in-law changed the starter and it fixed the problem. I had no clicking either-only lights, stereo, etc. It was the starter.

2006 grand vitara will not start and solenoid will not click. Battery is fine.

you mean it wont crank, no car starts with a dead starter. unless push started.
wiggle the shifter lever, that is the PRN switch if the switch lies
and shows not Park the starter will be dead by DESIGN.
you can hot wire any starter solenoid and see if the starter works at any time.
if it does , the its not the starter, its the key line.
the key switch creates the key line signal. and goes to tranny then starter. if this line opens for ANY reasons, the stater (even good) will never crank.
this is to prevent , the old Audi lady from running over her kids.
it can be defeated. you can ever add an "override switch)
many do after seeing $200 PRN switch, dang.
ok you are impowered, (sorry so late )

Wont start

If your battery is fully charged it sounds like you have a starter issue. The solenoid is clicking but the starter motor is fried.

My 1996 Audi A6 Quattro wont start. It won't even turn over. It makes a couple of clicking noises but nothing. What could this be?

either a dead battery or bad wire connections from battery to starter first check and clean battery connections if still not starting try jumping battery if it still click than you have bad connection at starter
