Put in your search engine , Recalls on a 2002 Chevy Impala LS it will bring up quite a few good sites to pick from. They were more recalls then I could put down here.

I'm going from memory on my 2002 Impala, but I recall that the key needs to be on, radio off.
Only the clock is displayed. Push one of the small buttons to change the Hours or Minutes.
Let me know if this was correct?

If you are not the orignal owner take it to any chevy dealer near you. Most likely they will honor the warranty.

This is a common problem with the 2001 Impala. The intermediate shaft in the steering needs to be lubricated or replaced. There is also a recall on some Impala's. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/results.cfm I suggest you take it to a trusted Chevy dealer and have this repaired.

If neither switch works it is a bad connection at the motor or bad ground or a bad motor. Remove the door panel unplug the motor push the switch and see if there is 12volts on the wires if there is the motor is bad There are small brushes in the motor that go bad tap on the motor while pushing the switch if it works that way replace it

I switched my stock radio out of my 2001 Chevy Impala because it was defective and replaced it with a used radio I got from the junkyard. I called Chevy to see if I could get the code to unlock it and they told me I had to go to a Chevy dealership which I did. Cost $40.
