if you remove the knobs you will see there is some flat nuts that need to be removed remoive them and there should be able to remove the faceplate

Turn the key on,but don't start it,and make sure the odometer is showing the actual mileage,not trip A or B.Turn the key back to the off position,then press and hold the trip/reset button.Continue to hold it down and turn the key to the on position.Continue holding the trip/reset button while the mileage flashes rows of zeros until the actual mileage appears again.Release the button,because you are finished .

I believe your going to have to replace the whole assembly as most of them are sealed unless they are already aftermarket.

The answer is in your question. If it's a "V6" there are two heads. If it's an inline 6 cylinder, there is one head with potentially two cams.
