Front end collision? The kill switch shuts off the fuel pump in case of an accident or rollover. If you hear the pump run, that's not it. I'd check for a cut wire in the starter circuit.

SOURCE: intermittent no start, very strange, very confusing

Sounds like fuel pump going out. I was told by a friend that the pump can get stuck and that by knocking on the fuel tank or by attempting to start that it can kick the pump out of the bad spot and it will start. But it is a sign that it needs to be replaced.

Sounds like air in fuel line. Purge fuel line. By "crank", do you mean engine spins but won't catch? Try starter fluid in intake.

I have a 2-85. 6 cyl. Deisel white tractor.after warm up oil pressure drops to around 20 psi.no nocking no loss power.but seams to heat up to 180 deg.

Hello Harold, You could have a worn out oil pump or worn out cam bearings. I had the same problem with mine and found out that there were particles in the oil pan. After driving for 15 miles the particles would clog the screen in the oil pump pick up tube. The oil pressure would drop to 10 pounds. I could shut off the engine for 30 minutes, start it up and had full oil pressure until I drove it again for another 15 miles. I thought I going crazy. I could not remove the oil pan without removing the engine. I drained the oil, installed the oil drain plug and added a couple gallons of Berryman B-12 carburetor cleaner to the oil fill hole in the valve cover. I let the carburetor cleaner soak into the pick up tube screen for an hour. I DID NOT start the engine but I DID crank the engine with the kill switch OFF to get the cleaner into the oil pump itself. I drained the carburetor cleaner out of the oil pan, added new oil, removed the oil filter and cranked the engine with the kill switch OFF again until I got clean oil through the oil filter housing. I screwed on a new oil filter and fired her up. Problem was solved and never came back. I hope you have as good of luck as I had. If your oil pan can be removed easily, it would be best to replace the oil pump with a new one.

I wrecked my 2010 chevy cobalt an busted the radiator an the car began overheating on the way home an losing power then it just died an will not start back but it Is cranking over an the serpintene belt is...

There is no "kill" switch or anything that shuts down the fuel or ignition if it gets too hot...maybe there should be. It's hard to say if you fried it or not, not knowing how hot it got or how far you drove it. Based on the "it lost power and then died" I think you killed it.

My 2004 Suzuki Aerio will not start

the scanner drops out when the power voltage drops too low.
so your 12vdc the ECU is tool low. use volt meter
to find the voltage drop point.
you mean no spark, fire is what fuel does when ignited.
and spark is first. if no spark say, i have no spark to 4 cylinders.
my guess is this.
lost DC power to ECU.
this kills spark
and loss of spark kills injection so, lost power kills injection 2 ways.
find this problem by watching spark and power to ECU.
the ECU will drop out about at 9v.
cranking the voltage usaully sags to about 11v cranking.
now you have a goal 11v min, to ECU at all times.(cept siberia)

1994 Cadillac deville starting problems

As with any no start issue, someone will need to check for spark at the plugs and fuel pressure at the injectors to proceed.
Could be a relay or the fuel pump, or a long list of things.
