SOURCE: locked my keys inside, can't find a door diagram online

A slim Jim is a fishing expedition. What you need to do is not worry about diagrams. Realize that the locking mechanism has just a very few parts that interconnect. The key hole where you insert your key, and the lock button that go up and down (or in some cases forward and back) are mechanically connected. It's that connection your fishing for and trying to move. You need to 'fish' between the lock and the button and try and 'hook' that linkage and move it in the dirction that moves your lock button to the unlocked position. If you really need a diagram many of the car part web sites will display a diagram for car parts. I've unlocked alot of doors with the method described and have never seen a diagram for what I'm doing. Good luck!

2009 chevy equinox rear passenger door won't unlock with remote

Lock/unlock motor may be failing. Remove the door panel and remove the connector from the lock motor. Check the dc voltage at the connector while pressing the lock switch. If you see battery voltage, replace the motor. If the voltage is low, inspect the wiring.

Doors locked

Your door lock mechanism is wire not rods. That's why door won't open. Need to get power somehow. Look under car and see of you can reach up to the hood latch and release mechanism to open hood. If so open hood and hook up a jumper pack. This should allow you to unlock door.

All cars have two sets of key FOBs. Is your 2nd set in the house?

If the windows are down far enough to press the unlock button, can you also reach the door open handle? If so, reach in and open the door. (I must be missing something here).

Anyway, there are several videos on Youtube that show you how to open a locked car. Here are a few examples:

12/6/2010 2003 bmw 325xi: Key does not manually lock/unlock driver door...but still works in ignition and trunk...central locking system still works to lock/unlock all doors(including driver) from...

If the key turns in the lock, but does nothing, then the linkage has become disconnected or broken. The key is mechanical to the lock and the lock has a electrical switch to operate the central locking unit. Could be a simple broken clip from the lock barrel. Hope this helps

Passenger door will not open

I can think of two possibilities:

1) The electronic lock is malfunctioning and forcing the door to lock. From the inside of the car, try forcing the lock to the 'unlocked' position. If you can do this with your had, but it 'snaps' back to 'locked' then it's an electrical problem. Possibly the lock solenoid itself, or the BCM.

2) If you cannot force the lock to the 'unlocked' position, then it's some sort of mechanical problem - maybe the lock is just jammed. Try spraying oil into the locking mechanism from the outside and working the lock until it's free. Otherwise, remove the interior door panel and diagnose the mechanical lock.

The lock on my front driver door will not unlock with power locks the rest the door will not even open when i attempt to open from the inside i tried unlocking it with the key but it made a sounds like...

You will need to remove the inside door trim panel and check the three (3) rods and plastic connectors that connect:
(a) the inside door handle to the door mechanism
(b) the inside door lock knob/outside key lock cylinder to the door mechanism
(c) the outside door handle to door mechanism.

Most likely one (or more) of these rods have either become loose or the plastic lock clips have broken.
The "L" end of the rod goes thru the hole of the clip and the clip has a pivoting "U" shape that goes over and locks onto the rod.
Based on the your year (2000) it might be a good idea to remove all clips and rods; and remove the entire door mechanism. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and re-install it.

The driver side door will not lock - the other doors lock and unlock using the electronic key, but the driver side door will not ock either electronically or using the key.

the lock mechanism itself of the driver side door is the problem.

you may try lubricating the lock mechanism and you might un-tangle what is binding in there.

something could have stuck in the locking mechanism.

tnx 4 using fixya,
