I need to know where to find the fuel rail on my 2005 Hyundai

It is vapor locking and I read if it would not crank due to vapor lock you could pour water on fuel rails, if it cranked it was surely vapor locking.

Doubtful that vapor lock is an issue on a fuel injected car. it was something that happened on old vehicles, and you just don't hear about it any more. It doesn't happen because of the high fuel pressure in the fuel lines of fuel injected vehicles. If the vehicle is cranking and won't start, it might be a fuel issue--getting no fuel because of a fuel pump issue. But not vapor lock.

It sounds like the vehicle is in theft mode,did you use a different key? Does the theft light blink really fast with the key off?If the passive anti-theft system has been activated the computer will have to be reset in order to get the vehicle running again.

Are you sure you have correct timing? its definetly a fule problem, if timing is good then turn your key to the on position and try to listin for the fule pump to prime. While the key is in on position go to fuel rail, there is a valve on fule rail called sharader valve. Get a small screw driver and press valve in to check if car has fule pressure. if pressure is present then it is incorrect timing or possible bad cam sensor.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If you have a vehicle that will turn over and over but will not start, I will tell you some things that you need to check. Every vehicle needs air, fuel, and fire to start. Now, the first thing you want to check is the fuel system. You want to make sure that the engine is getting fuel. The easiest way to test the fuel system is by testing the fuel pressure on the fuel rail. You need to refer to your owner manual for the correct measurement of pressure. Another easy test is using starter fluid. If it starts when you spray the fluid, you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't, check the ignition system. If your pressure is not correct or you have no way of testing the fuel pressure, start by checking your fuel pump. The fuel pump pumps fuel out of the gas tank and to your fuel filter. When you first turn your key on, you should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on for a second or two. It makes a soft buzzing sound. Listen for this sound. This will determine if the pump is kicking on and working. If you don't hear this sound, check your fuel pump fuse, relay, and your reset button. Not all vehicles have a reset button, so once again check to see if you have this button. If you change all of these and the pump still doesn't work, you may have a bad fuel pump. Test and make sure the pump is getting power before you change it. Now, you want to make sure the fuel filter is not stopped up. Check the gas lines and make sure they have no damage. Lastly, make sure fuel is getting to the fuel injectors. If you are getting fuel, you will need to make sure you are getting fire. You need to test your spark plugs or coils for spark. If you have spark, you should look over your timing belt or timing chain to make sure it is not broken or slipping. If you are not getting spark, you will need to check the spark plugs, coils, coil packs, wires, distributor, distributor cap, and rotor. Anyone of these can cause a vehicle to not spark. Check everything you can. Make sure the rotor is spinning and make sure the distributor cap has all metal contacts. Also, make sure the cap is not damaged or cracked. Make sure none of the plug/coil wires are damaged. Make sure they are all hooked up correctly. Now, it is possible that you could have a bad camshaft sensor or crankshaft sensor. In some vehicles, the camshaft sensor is built into the distributor. You want to test each of these parts and make sure each one is getting power. If a part is not getting power, that may be the reason your vehicle is not starting. If you have a check engine light on, you need to get your computer scanned for error codes. More then likely, if your vehicle won't start, your check engine light is on. The light is on because your computer has detected a problem with the vehicle. You can buy a cheap code reader for around forty dollars from Autozone or Advanced. Just make sure you know all your codes for your vehicle. When you have it scanned, the computer may know the exact parts you need to change. Most of these parts listed run off your ECM. The ignition system is a very complex system. It is rarely, but they do go bad. If you believe that the computer is to blame, make sure you have it flashed before you put it in your vehicle. If you don't, it will not work. Finding your error codes is the best way to finding your solution. If not, you will have many things to check. Always make sure you run a test on a part before changing it. Make sure that part is getting power. If it is not, check the power source. I know this is a lot of information, but any of the parts listed can cause the vehicle to not start. If you have no access to a code reader, fuel pressure tester, or a code reader, you can still check a lot of things. It is just harder. Remember, always use the process of elimination. Determine if the part is working or not and move on to the next part. You will eventually find your problem. Lastly, electrical problems can cause the symptoms you are having. They are very hard to find. When trying to find an electrical problem, you need to make sure you know what to test for. Each wire has a purpose. One part of the engine can shut down another part. You need to know how many volts you are testing for on each wire. You can use a voltage meter to test for current. I hope this helps you and thank you for reading. The error P1130 and P1131 is for the fuel trim and lean fuel mixture respectively. This tells me that this may be an issue with the air fuel mixture or its reached its limits in compensating for the incorrect mixture. You could try to clean out the intake first using carb cleaner spray or tuner spray to clean out the intake and the MAF sensor which measures the air that comes in. Check also if there are leaks or gaps on the air duct found between the air filter and the intake manifold and the intake plenum. Leaks would cause the system to get an incorrect reading. If it were a faulty sensor you should get the error code for the sensor and you may have issues starting the engine up.

Check also the vacuum hoses which may be loose or cracked that needs replacing or refitting. This is also a common cause. I also do not rule out the possibility of the fuel sensors going or starting to go bad. The PCV may also need cleaning or replacing.

With all mentioned items go check first the leaks of the intake system and the vacuum lines as these are found to be common. Some leaks or cracks are minimal but is crucial to the sensors.

If it has fuel in the rail that doesn't mean the injectors are delivering it to the engine, that is called injector "pulse", this can be checked with a little neon light tool called a "NOID" injector tester, you plug it into the injector connector and crank the engine over, it will flash if the injector is working and ionjecting fuel. The tool is very cheap. The loss of power to the fuses is likely a defective igntion starter switch.

Does anyone have suggestions on a 2002 Altima that has vapro lock?


Vapor lock is caused by fuel getting too hot in a fuel line or fuel rail and is rare since modern fuel system circulate fuel fro the tank to the fuel rails and then excess goes back to the tank. Are you sure you have vapor lock? Please describe all symptoms.

Vapor lock is your issue the fuel is boiling on the fuel rail causing your hard start condition which locks up pressure and blam no start

I have 1999 plymouth voyager. Runs great when its cool outside but stalls an dies when its hot out. Runs good for bout 10-15 min then stalls out an sometimes starts right back up an sometimes takes bout 5...


Sounds like a vapor lock in the fuel line. If the fuel line is a hose, then in summer time, the line , if it is old, will collapse due to vapor lock. This will cause the problem you are describing.

To promote easy starting, all gasolines contain volatile constituents that under some conditions, such as high ambient temperature, tend to produce more vapor than the fuel-system vents can handle. The action of an engine-mounted fuel pump, in decreasing the pressure at its inlet, tends to vaporize the fuel. If the vapor forms faster than the pump can draw it from the fuel line, the flow of fuel to a carburetor is effectively stopped and the engine stalls. Vapor lock is much less likely on a fuel-injected engine with an electric pump in the fuel tank. However, an engine with port fuel injection may experience vapor lock if the injector or fuel overheats, or if the Reid vapor pressure of the fuel is too high.

98 and 99 intrepid was manufactured with weak fuel pumps causing them to vapor lock try pouring cool water on the fuel rails on the intake to calm vapored gas then try to start it. Even the temp gauge at half way mark is probably still low on coolant causing engine to be warmer than normal causing the vapor lock to fix this problem replace the fuel pump with a 2000 or newer intrepid fuel pump that carries a little higher psi to prevent vapor lock from reoccurring this pump is compatible with your 98 it will plug right in

I have a 93 nissan 240sx with the KA24DE engine. I have been getting vapor lock after running the car for a little while and parking it. When I get in the car it will turn over for about a second then...


It's possible that the fuel system is slowly leaking down somewhere. Nissan injectors are known for leaking at the intake where they connect to the rail. Also, if the check valve in the pump is bad, fuel could be running back to the tank. The engine needs 30 psi in the fuel rail before the engine will start so if the system leaks down somewhere while the car sits, it will take a little while for the pump to build pressure again. If you can connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail, you'll be able to watch the pressure after you shut the engine down. It should hold residual pressure for a long time, if it doesn't, you will need to find where it's leaking down to.

Car won't start.


you will need to remove the air cleaner and pour a small amount of gasoline in and get to start, the fuel rail is vapor locked and needs the engine running to pull this air pocket through the fuel rail,it may take more than once if the fuel filter in the rail got dried out between the gas tank and engine

93 deville wont start.....has spark...tries to start when gas is poured into TB...also...pwr windows, locks, and trunk wont work...batt is fine....cranks fine, but wont start??


you need to check fuel pressure on fuel rail,you need at least 55psi of fuel pressure to fire up.check fuel pump fuse and relay or any anti theft problems

Nope... vapor lock has been eliminated for some time due to the advent of fuel injection at 40 to 50 lbs.... The problem still could be the fuel pump.. you need to have it diagnosed by a professional technician - then you'll know for sure.
