Car wouldn't start-tightened battery cables-car

Tighten the battery cable! You kind of need that to keep the car running! Is it the wire or the connector what hooks onto the battery?

a charger with a boost button? (big shops have this)
or you mean jumper cable , jump started from a running other car?


my wild guess. is you always start fine, when jumper cable jumped.
this proves, the
battery in your car is BAD or is only discharged.
for 100 years now, same deal.
try a fresh battery off a good car.
works now, so ??? yours is weak or bad!

but started car , is the voltage 13.3. to 15v? a walfart $10 meter.?
no , then the charge system is bad (charge lamp on?)
note, i said system. not a specific part.

if the charge system is failing.?

1. bad battery. tha'ts right alts do shut down with battery bad. (open or shorted battery)
2. loose alternator pulley belt.?
3. bad alternator wires. connections.? or bad battery cables.?
4. scan the PCM most 2007 will report what is wrong with voltages and charge. scan it.

engine rpm way below normal at idle 800 is typ. good. 400 dead wrong.

someone put the minus cable far end to the wrong part>?
this minus cable has correct spot near the starter.
some fit to block others to stater , bolt or bell blots.
to frame is wrong, seen that , with lazy work.

Measure the voltage across the car battery with a volt meter with the alternator running .. It needs to read 13.4 volts or higher to charge the battery.

are you sure that your battery's not dead? try jump starting your car from another car. do you have aaa? or allstate motor club? maybe auto assistance from your cell phone provider? they can help with a boost for your car.or you can call a local tow company to boost your car,free help's the best though. ask a neighbor to boost your car. if the car starts, maybe that you've left an inside light on that's gone unnoticed.check for a missing belt? all of these are signs of no charge to your battery from your altenator. loose battery cables? corroded battery cables at battery? if the car starts after boost,let it run for 10mins and then shut it off, if no restart on it;s on,then suspect a bad altenator,or electrical problem. thank you for choosing fixya.com

new alternator required

First try boosting car with extra battery, attach posotive cable of booster battery to posotive cable of your battery and negative cable of booster battery to engine block, never to negative post of your battery, If it still does not turn over,Try turning over the motor with a socket and stong arm attched to crankshaft bolt. It could be that your motor has seized due to lack of lubrication

it sounds as if you might have to replace the battery, if your battery is shot you can still get a boost and the car will run because the alternator produces electricity which should take car of the cars functions and top up the charge on the battery. if the battery is no longer taking the charge or not holding it as soon as you shut it off it will not have enough power to start the starter. A lot of automotive place will do a check on your battery if you take it to them.

please note that i'm not a mechanic and this is just based on my own experiance

bad ground cable,use a jumper cable from negative to alternator bracket, if it starts thats it.

sounds like either your battery or your alternator has gone bad....if you can get it to an auto parts store they can check it out and tell you which it is or both....
