Yes. Your Local Auto Parts Store should Carry these as Direct Replacements. If Not, Sears Carries them.

SOURCE: Where is the output speed sensor on a 01 hyundai santa fe?

I wanted to post a reply to this because I also have a 2001 2.7l V6 4wd and my output speed sensor was directly underneath the air filter housing/box and NOT "deep behind the transmission" as the poster said above. It was very easy to get to, and took me about 10 minutes to replace. The part number for mine (genuine Hyundai/KIA) is 42621 39052 if that helps. And this is NOT the 02 sensor mentioned in the previous post. What we're talking about here is the Output Speed Sensor on the transmission. You may get a code P0720 from your CEL. You can also download TSB 05-40-011from hmaservice.com for more info and a diagram of the location. Hopefully this might help someone in the future. Good luck!

Which fuse runs speedometer for hyundae santa fe

The fuse for the instruments also powers the speedometer as well as the other instruments. If your speedo only is not working, it may be a bad VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the transmission or the speedometer itself may be defective.

AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES P0715, P0716, P0717, P0720, P0721 & P0722

An improperly functioning input speed sensor or output speed sensor may result in the following conditions:
^ "Check Engine" light on
^ Harsh P-R or P-D engagement shock
^ Transaxle in 3rd gear fail-safe
^ Diagnostic trouble codes 1. Using a GDS, check for DTCs in both the "Engine" and "Automatic Transaxle" menus. Record the DTC and description.
2. From the GDS, select:
^ Vehicle
^ "Auto Transaxle" menu
^ "Current Data"
^ "Input speed sensor" and "output speed sensor". Drive the vehicle and monitor the input and output speed sensors. If the sensors show:
^ Continuous output, the wiring currently has no open/shorts. Go to Step 6.
^ No output, go to Step 3
3. Check the wiring harness visually for an open circuit or short circuit to ground. Check for a pinched harness at the PCM/TCM attachment bolts.
4. Disconnect the connectors at the input and output speed sensor and PCM/TCM. Check for bent pins or pins not fully inserted into the connector.
5. If a harness open/short is found, repair or replace the ECM control harness between the PCM/TCM and transaxle and go to Step 8. If not, go to Step 6.

Speedo stopped working trans started to shift hard does not turn off door locks lock you in dattery dies alternatoe tests were good all symtoms appeared within days of each other

You have described several systems which can produce the symptoms you're having. First thought regarding the speedo and hard shift - VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor is located on the transmission at the diffferential housing. OR, you might have an INPUT SHAFT and/or OUTPUT SHAFT speed sensor(s) malfunction. Best advice, take the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai Service Department to have it PROPERLY diagnosed - will most likely save you money in the long run. Have them scan the ECU/TCM (Engine Control Unit/Transmission Control Unit) for any trouble codes (DTC's = Diagnostic Trouble Codes). This will point the technician in the right direction (if there are any codes).

Am getting a hyundai fault code of po501 from check engine light anylysis

Hi. P0501 means there is a problem with the Vehicle Speed Sensor. VSS is not sending data to the ECU. The ECM receives vehicle speed information from the right front wheel speed sensor, presuming your Santa Fe isn't equipped with ABS. Check the tone wheel on the axle and check the wiring going to the sensor, especially for being chewed by rodentia. These are far more common
problems than problems with the sensor itself.

All the best!

The speedometer of my 2004 hyundai santa fe does not work. can you give a hints on the probable cause of the trouble?

You need to replace the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor), it is located on the outside of your transmission, you can access it by going under the vehicle. The VSS sends a signal from the transmission to the speedometer, telling it from the rotation of the driveshaft how fast the vehicle is going.
