It depends on who you go to and if you want it done right. I went to the Dealership and had them put front brakes on my 2008 Dodge Avenger and it has been in the shop every 2-4 months since then for front brakes. They replaced the entire front brake system and my 08 Avenger is still eating brakes. I finally took it to a friend who owns a auto repair shop he replace the rotors which are total about 115.00 for each from AutoZone and replaced the brake pads for 50.00 so it cost me just parts 155.00 and my Avenger is running smoothly since haven't had problems with the brakes since. Go to Midas and let them change it for roughly 89.00 avoid the dealership at all cost they can run 200.00-500.00 depending on if it is just the brakes pads or if it is the rotors and pads.

two things 1. don't start the engine but turn the key till the dash board lights up wait to see if the computer recognizes that error was fix to specs. 2. if not got to a mechanic for a obd reading and reset it.

SOURCE: how do I replace brake
I just replaced the front pads on my '09 Avenger and I'm getting a squealing sound from them only when the car go's forward. It's not a grinding noise but, more of a lite metal rubbing squeak. Any ideas?
