My nissan micra 2003, malfunction indicator light

The proper way to reset the ABS light in Micra is by clearing the codes with an OBDII scanner. The difficulty is that the cause of the light could be either a bad wheel speed sensor, low brake fluid, a blown fuse, or a malfunctioning ABS module. If that problem is discerned and resolved, the light should automatically go out. If it doesn't, that is when the codes must be manually cleared by a scanner. That is the best information I have found.

You must now get the system control module scanned for the fault code(s) that are set in its memory when the check engine light was turned on by the system.

An orange warning light which is a picture of an engine = Engine Check Light. Most commonly known as the Malfunction Warning Light (MIL).

If this light illuminates while driving, it means your engine computer has detected a malfunction somewhere within the vehicle's electronics. The computer monitors hundreds of components & circuits. Some of these are critical in nature.

For this reason, it's important you make arrangements to have an authorised Toyota service agent (or Auto Electrician) scan your vehicle's computer for diagnostic codes. Your car is most likely obd2 compliant (in the US everycar built after 1996 is) this means your check engine light could be on for a whole list of reasons, You will need an obd2 scanner to plug into the diagnostics connector to read the codes. Many times car parts places will let you use theres, hoping to sell you parts when you know what needs to be fixed. If the use of free one is not available you can probably buy one off of ebay for not too much. Use the code scanner, write down the codes and google them and/or buy a haynes manual that will explain how to do all these things.
